Find pure tranquillity at this secluded working sheep farm, with a wealth of picturesque country lanes and scenic trails to explore on foot or two wheels beginning from the doorstep. Fringed by the Lurgy River, pick up some fresh local produce from the quaint village shop at the idyllic hillside village of Kilmacrennan (2.5 miles) or head to the Georgian town of Ramelton (4 miles), nestling on the slopes of the Lennon River, to peruse the artisan food and crafts at its weekly country market. Glenveagh National Park and Castle, with its magnificent mountains, pristine lakes, waterfalls, glens, native oak woods, and a picturesque castle, can be reached within 10.5 miles.

Centred around a roaring open fire, the cosy lounge, flooded with plenty of natural sunlight from the large picture window, boasts a warming atmosphere, complete with sumptuous seating that invites tired travellers to unwind. Reminiscent of a traditional country cottage, the spacious kitchen/diner perfectly echoes the rich heritage of the farmhouse whilst providing everything you need to rustle up something delicious and dine with loved ones long into the evening. The single bedroom shares the same charm and character as the rest of the ground floor, whilst the spacious double and twin bedroom upstairs offers an insight into rural times past, featuring rustic wood cladding and charming antique-style pieces. This was our seventh visit to this beautiful cottage in deeply rural Donegal. We always love it here - the location, the views and the lovely, tasteful furniture and art. We hope to be back before too long.
