This traditionally designed contemporary property is set against a dramatic backdrop of the magnificent Caha Mountains. Spacious and with a wonderful outlook from every window, it sleeps six guests. The sea is within 400 metres and the nearest shop is just 1 mile away. With a wealth of unspoiled beaches, water sports and spectacular walking trails nearby, including the Beara Way, this is the perfect holiday home for a large family or a group of friends. You’ll find shops, restaurants with delicious fresh seafood and boat trips in the bustling fishing port of Castletownbere (9 miles). Drop into the town’s renowned traditional bar-cum-grocery store, enjoy a game at the 9-hole golf course or take the ferry to peaceful Bere Island. Look out for dolphins and seals in the sheltered waters of Adrigole Harbour (6 miles), where you can hire kayaks or canoes, and catch a boat cruise along the splendid coastline.

The white-painted cottage is light and airy, with sumptuous sofas and armchairs in the cosy living room, which features an original ornamental fireplace and fine period bureau. The roomy farmhouse-style kitchen, complete with a dresser, has a utility room at one end and an open dining room seating six at the other. From here, you can walk through the patio doors straight into the garden. There are four delightful bedrooms: two king-size, one with an en-suite shower, and two doubles. A spacious shower room completes the layout.

This is an exceptionally well equipped holiday home, in which the owners take great pride and which they maintain beautifully. They are the epitome of kindness and consideration and make guests extremely welcome. We first went last year as a couple and returned this year with three members of our family, which should confirm our belief that this isRead more a property well worth spending a holiday in. The house is comfortable and spacious enough to relax in all together or separately. It is ideally situated for exploring West Cork and its delights. We've rented holiday cottages all our lives and only two have been worth a second stay. Cappanaparka is the better of the two. Hide
