Wake up to the sound of waves and a breathtaking vista in this coastal hideaway on the rugged West Kerry coast. This detached property sleeps four guests and is perfectly placed for exploring the splendid scenic landscape of sea and mountains. Gleesk Pier, a tiny harbour ideal for a spot of fishing, is within a 0.5-mile stroll and you can pick up the long-distance Wild Atlantic Way and Kerry Way trails from the pretty village of Sneem (8 miles). You’ll also find brightly painted shops, restaurants and pubs with seafood high on the menu. Professional guides are on hand if climbing the surrounding mountains feels a little daunting. Treat yourself to a relaxing session in Sneem Seaweed Baths, set on the shores of lovely Kenmare Bay and enjoy a swim off beautiful local beaches such as Castlecove (6 miles), renowned for its silver sands.

Enter this coastal property and be blown away by the large bay windows in the open-plan living/dining room that look out to unforgettable views and flood the interior with light. The living space features comfortable seating, with large doors opening onto the patio. A spacious country kitchen leading off the dining area has a breakfast table, and there is more seating in the sunroom which is perfect for soaking up the views morning, noon and night. There are two bright, ground-floor bedrooms; a double and a twin, each with an en-suite shower room. Underfloor central heating and a gas fire add a cosy note on chilly nights.

Fantastic location, views and interesting house design and spaciousness and friendly housekeeper made up for other deficiencies for us But think perhaps the owner would be well advised to stay overnight and try a few basics like ironing a shirt Also to leave written instructions about which 2 places and what to recycle in Sneem. How did the heatRead moreing work? Ditto the shower off the single bed bedroom Hide

The property is in a stunning location, and the house itself is very nice, but needs to be better cared for by the caretaker we feel. However, we could not fault Donal and his daughter and husband who were very amenable.

We found it appropriate to give some feedback to the owner via his housekeeper, the view is stunning but the property could do with some TLC to merit the price band.
