An enticing and beautifully restored retreat, this cottage sits on a farm close to the Portmagee Channel. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom, dog-friendly hideaway is ideal for anyone wishing to explore spectacular County Kerry and the Iveragh Peninsula, as well as Valentia Island. With an open fire for the colder season and a mature garden for summer days, this Irish abode makes a great choice for a family or group of friends at any time of year. It is 2 miles from the coastal village of Portmagee, with its shops, eateries and boat trips out to the Skellig Islands. Serene Reencaheragh Beach is 3.5 miles away, while picture-postcard Waterville, on the Ring of Kerry, is 11.5 miles from the property.

Step inside to find ample accommodation to spread out into during your stay. The lounge/kitchen/diner, with its stone floor and wood-panelled ceiling and walls, will quickly become to hub of the holiday home. Here, you can relax, chat and prepare meals to sit down to at the table. There is also a separate lounge, where you can congregate on the soft seating to watch TV with an open fire roaring in the fireplace set within the stone wall. A utility room, family bathroom and king-size bedroom are all also downstairs, while stairs lead up to a double bedroom, a twin and a family shower room on the first floor.

The garden has an area of lawn where you can play with children and pets after your trips out. There is a BBQ for cooking the fresh Irish produce you have sourced when the weather is fine.

Mackens Farmhouse provides a marvellous location in what can only be described as the most beautiful part of the West of Scotland. Everything you could possibly want is provided and Elizabeth Lynch is on hand to ensure that all goes smoothly. The views from the accommodation are breathtaking.
