This secluded farmhouse in County Cork enjoys spectacular views across Courtmacsherry Bay, towards the Old Head of Kinsale. The property sleeps eight guests and makes a great base for families and groups of friends with the dog in tow. The cottage sits above the Wild Atlantic Way, offering fabulous walking opportunities directly from the front door. The quaint village of Kilbrittain is 3 miles away, and has a good range of pubs and eateries, as well as Ireland’s oldest inhabited castle. Just 12 miles away is the vibrant coastal town of Kinsale, known for its colourful buildings and fabulous collection of independent restaurants. The town also hosts regular markets, and has some charming boutiques and galleries showcasing local arts and crafts. For a day at the seaside, journey to Garretstown (6 miles), where you’ll find a vast, sandy beach with sheltered waters for bathing.

This coastal retreat is decorated in a contemporary style, with plenty of creature comforts to make you feel at home. On the ground floor, you’ll find a cosy lounge with comfortable seating set around a TV, a quiet spot to curl up in with a good book. The spacious kitchen is equipped with everything needed to cater for a large group, and has a breakfast bar for perching with a morning coffee as you plan your day. An open doorway leads through to an impressive dining room, with far-reaching views and a large, wooden dining table to seat everyone. In summer months, throw open the French doors to the patio to let the fresh sea air pour in. A handy utility room and sleek shower room round off the ground floor. Upstairs, four beautiful bedrooms await; a welcoming double, a twin room, single bedroom, and another double with an en-suite shower room. Serving the bedrooms and completing the interior is a well-appointed family shower room.

Outside offers space to amble with a morning coffee whilst taking in the far-reaching sea views, a wonderful way to start the day. On warm evenings, gather at the patio for memorable al fresco dinners, easily accessed through the dining room’s French doors.

Well maintained and very spacious farm house with amazing views. Very clean and everything you might need is provided for, from a well equipped kitchen to a full linen closet should you need an extra towel or pillow. The location is very peaceful and rural, a real bonus but also worth bearing in mind you will definitely need a car to get you aroundRead more, even to the nearest restaurant as the local roads are small and don't have pavements. Some fabulous places to visit nearby, and beautiful beaches. Great communication with the owner. Would happily recommend a stay here. Hide

It was a wonderful time at Burren farmhouse! We felt very comfortable there and enjoyed the peace and quiet, the view, and the comfort of the house! The laundry and cooking supplies were also exceptionally good. It is a good basis for sightseeing tours around Cork.

We have been returning to Burren Farmhouse for many years, its always clean and warm when we arrive. It's the perfect place to unwind with our dogs pass and present who love to run on the beach directly on front of the house. Clonakilty and Bandon are a short drive away where you will find everything you need to make your stay very comfortable. Read more Hide

Burren Farmhouse is situated in a stunning location and provided an ideal base for us to explore the various beaches, headlands and towns of Clonakilty and Kinsale. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was nice and warm with plenty of hot water. All in all a very comfortable stay and we would definitely come back for another visit.

The farmhouse was lovely. All rooms very spacious and had everything you would need. The location was great as a base for seeing the south west of Ireland, near to lots of great places such as KInsale, Timoleague, cobh, ring of Kerry, Courtmacsherry, Clonakilty and Killbrittain worth a visit for the whale remains and lovely little cafe/shop in hiRead moregh street that sold almost everything. Cottage is very remote so would recommend own transport as it is a bit far to walk to nearest pub in Timoleague which has a few pubs/restaurants and a great supermarket. The accommodation was very comfortable and we all looked forward to coming back to it every night after days out sightseeing to relax. Views from some of the bedroom windows were gorgeous to wake up to. Looks out over the estuary which is great for watching sea birds and weather was lovely while we were visiting so got to sit out in the garden every day. We would definitely book this property again if we were to return to this area. Locals and everyone we met on our travels were really friendly and welcoming so would recommend this property and the area to others. Thank you for a wonderful holiday - only downside was that we did not book for 2 weeks instead of 1 as so much to see and do. Hide
