This traditional, stone cottage enjoys a remote, coastal location in a scenic corner of County Galway. The property sleeps up to eight guests and is perfect for large families and groups of friends looking to get away from it all with the pooch in tow. Nearby, the colourful market town of Clifden, known for its excellent array of traditional Irish pubs, is just 8 miles away. Guests are also just 10 miles from the picturesque coastal village of Roundstone, with its cute tearooms, and arts and crafts shops. The area is awash with fabulous beaches, including the beautiful, white-sand paradises of Dog’s Bay and Gurteen (both within 10 miles). For keen walkers, the mountains and remote landscape of Connemara National Park are 15 miles away.

The cottage is warm and inviting, with beautiful, exposed woodwork, cosy soft furnishings, and homely touches throughout. The heart of the home is a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner with a striking wooden ceiling and a roaring open fire for those chilly evenings. Relax here on the comfortable seating, watching the TV/DVD and chatting about your day. At the far end of the room is a sleek kitchen for rustling up tasty feasts for the group, and taking centre stage in the room is a dining table to seat everyone. There are two inviting bedrooms on the ground floor; a king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a double bedroom, also with an en-suite shower room. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility room and a separate WC. Upstairs, a tranquil mezzanine area overlooking the lounge offers a quiet spot for reading. You’ll also find a large family bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, along with a well-appointed family bathroom.

Outside, guests can take in the fresh sea air and stunning views on offer, made more enjoyable by the quaint patio that awaits. Here, you can enjoy morning cuppas watching the sun rise, or al fresco meals together.

This is a beautiful large house with everything you need for a great holiday. Off season when we stayed it was really warm with excellent heating. Plenty of hot water for all the bathrooms and a great kitchen with every appliance you could need. I really recommend a stay here its our second visit and we will return.

Perfect location for a quiet, relaxing break. The open fire is magnificent! A really outstanding feature. The photos don't do it justice. A great open feel to the whole house. The mezzanine lounge with comfortable sofas and satellite tv (if you need it!) is a lovely space. There were only 2 of us, but this probably would suit a much larger partRead morey. Hide

Spacious and comfortable property with lots to see and do in the area. We visited in summer but once it had been fixed the heating was very effective and would be ideal for anyone wanting a winter holiday there as well. Could use a little updating here and there but that's true of most rental property so not really a factor. We tried lots of cafes Read moreand pub/restaurants nearby and could not find fault with the food anywhere. If you want to visit the area, this house is well worth a visit. Hide
