Wake up to wonderful views from this peaceful hideaway. The property sleeps five guests and is set in gardens reaching to the lake’s edge. It offers an ideal base for a large family or friends to discover Connemara’s breathtaking landscape of lakes, mountains and rugged coastline. The small town of Oughterard, known as the gateway to Connemara, is just 1.5 miles away. Here, you’ll find excellent shops, restaurants and traditional bars, with lots of attractions on the doorstep. Cruises on Lough Corrib (the largest in the Irish Republic), run island hopping and day trips, while the loch is renowned for its salmon and trout fishing. Meet the alpacas for a walk at family-run Curraghduff Farm (6 miles) and explore historic Gengowla Mines (2 miles), where miners once toiled for silver and lead by candlelight.

Picture windows in the lounge and spacious kitchen/dining room give lovely, far-reaching views of the loch. Light the open fire on chilly nights and relax on comfortable seating in the homely living space. Rustle up a tasty meal in the kitchen, or perhaps a picnic to enjoy on the lawn on a sunny day. There are three welcoming bedrooms—two with twin beds and one single—together with a family bathroom.

Great setting with views across Lough Corrib and a spacious garden. However the cottage itself is badly in need of updating and has a musty smell. No wifi
