A lovely, former railway cottage with Victorian charm and gorgeous views over the Dales, just 5 miles from Hawes. And it's dog-friendly!

While you can experience the peace and quiet that the cottage offers, there is so much to do on the doorstep. The recently restored Pennine Bridleway is across the road, the Settle-Carlisle railway stops at Garsdale Head Station, which is just under a mile away, giving links to the main line at Leeds or Carlisle and the local rural bus even runs past the bottom of the drive! So whether it is biking, hiking, sight-seeing or tea room-ing, you will be spoiled for choice all year round.

The property has a great feel to it. With a touch of the outside-in and beautiful scenery through every window, this inviting cottage is great for family or friends get-togethers. There are 3 bedrooms sleeping 5 guests: a king and a double and one single.  Enjoy a morning brew while listening to the birds, dine alfresco at the picnic bench in the front garden or cosy up round the log burner for those cooler evenings. The cottage even has a laundry room and handy back yard to wash the rain and Dales mud off and for storing bikes.

You can pull up directly outside of the front door for unloading and parking for the railway cottages is just off the road in a shared layby, in front of the houses.

Lovely cottage with thick stone walls, original doors and stripped pine floors. Spotlessly clean and really thoughtfully equipped, including the umbrellas in the front porch and lots of little torches for guests. Every need had been considered and catered for. We had a lovely 5 day stay in this cosy cottage which is in a good location for exploring the local area. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed during our stay. You have to park in the lay-by over the road and walk up a very steep drive to reach the cottage, which was not a problem for us, but might be a concern for those wiRead moreth mobility issues. We would definitely stay here again. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay at Moorcock cottage, it's nice and peaceful and has everything you need. Hawes is only 15min away with some great places to eat, I recommend the White Hart Inn. We would definitely come back again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 2 Moorcock Cottage. We booked just the day before arrival and yet the property was immaculate when we arrived. The host was very friendly and communicated well with us. The cottage was warm, cosy, nicely decorated, very well equipped with appliances, utensils, games, towels. It had everything we needed. The locatioRead moren was lovely and a great base for exploring both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The new outside toilet is a great addition to the property and came in very handy when getting back from a long day walking through the hills. It is a very good size cottage and was perfect for our family of 2 adults, 2 children and 2 Labradors. We have already recommended staying here to friends and family and we definitely hope to return ourselves in the future. Hide
