Property code: OC-BMY

A picturesque, chocolate box cottage painted in the famous ‘Suffolk Pink’ colour and surrounded by lavender, wisteria, and magnolia.

Situated in the pretty village of Yoxford, which is close to the Heritage Coast, is Barn Meadow Cottage - a pretty property with an abundance of charm and character in a quiet location at the end of a private lane. It accommodates up to six guests across three generous bedrooms, two within the main house and sharing a large modern shower room, and the third in its own private area in the former stable with an ensuite shower room. Please note that this property does not have a bath.

Downstairs there are two spacious living rooms, a dining room, and the farmhouse style kitchen. The snug is the perfect spot to cosy up together: light the wood burner, snuggle under the blankets and watch a movie, or soak up the sun and read a good book in the garden room. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your self-catering needs with space for everyone around the table in the dining room.

Outside is a beautiful and mature landscaped garden with flowers springing up throughout the year and a lovely seating area shaded by a medlar tree. This wonderful cottage is the ideal bolthole from which to explore the heritage coast, with Aldeburgh and Southwold just a 20-minute drive away!

The main high street of Yoxford has an interesting and pleasing mix of architecture dating from the 14th century right up to the 20th century.  Taking its name from the ford over the river, Yoxford is known locally as 'the garden of Suffolk' because of its setting between two stretches of parkland.  Its good location slightly off the A12, makes it a central holiday destination for visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, and RSPB Minsmere. The village also has an award-winning restaurant ‘Mains’ open Thursday, Friday and Saturday (booking essential) and G & T’s Tea Shop, winner of the 2017 Suffolk Food and Drink ‘Best Coffee/Tea shop award and finalist in 2018.  There is a pub and a village store.  Yoxford is a centre for antique shops and for arts and crafts: the giant bronze statue of the Yoxman watches over the village from a neighbouring field.

Pleasant week in a very good location. House is well furnished and we enjoyed the evenings round the fire. Just around the corner from both a local shop and a pub that is now serving meals daily... that said we popped up the road to The Fox in Darsham as we've eaten there before. Also easy to get back to Saxmundham if you need a choice of supermaRead morerkets... in our opinion better than the Coop in Halesworth . A word of advise to other dog owners.though... yes the house is suitable, and there is a rear courtyard, but the front garden access is shared and is open to the road, so the dogs could not be let off the lead in the front garden. BUT, within a 100 yards round the side of the bowling club and you've miles of paths across the fields. So a mild inconvenience, but worth being aware. Hide

A really comfortable, well-equipped and well-cared for cottage in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barn Meadow Cottage. It is well placed for exploring Sutton Hoo, Walberswick, Aldeburgh with Benjamin Britten's Red House and the coast around Orford. The weather was not great, but the garden room with its underfloor heating was Read morevery pleasant on wet days and the air source heating kept us warm on chilly evenings. Kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. EV charging is well set up, but bring your own leads. Hide

Lovely place to stay, full of character and charm. Grand parents used the annex and two tall teens in the twin room, plenty of room for 6 adults, Beds very comfortable too. Well equipped property and great for exploring the area. Would look to book again.

A comfortable and homely property in a beautiful rural setting. Would have spent so much longer there if possible. Lots of places to visit in the area and places to walk for the avid walker. Thank you so much.

Comfortable and very well equipped. Excellent shower and easily workable modern tv. Parking trickier if you have a bigger car and be aware that the enclosed garden is not dog proof for tinier dogs like mini dachshunds. Great location and friendly neighbours.

The shower in the Stable Block is difficult to achieve a good temperature with and the kitchen lacks a few items such as a butter dish and serving dishes.
