Trackside Cottage is the perfect getaway for those looking to explore North Yorkshire. Charming yet contemporary cottage in the heart of Pickering looking directly over the North Yorkshire Moors Heritage railway. Dive into the many local shops selling local produce, pick yourself up some great food or treat yourself to a fantastic meal in the plethora of great pubs & restaurants. In the other direction, you immediately enter the North York Moors National Park with its many walk and cycle tracks, beautiful villages and spectacular scenery.

Trackside Cottage, overlooking the steam railway and dating back to the 18th century, has undergone an extensive, no expense spared renovation, being fitted with a solid ash kitchen and granite worktops, cosy dining nook, ideal for sitting around together and discussing plans for the following day, and the charming lounge with many original features. Spot the salt cupboard next to the inglenook fireplace. The cottage also boasts two beautiful and restful ensuite bedrooms, just right for a lazy morning in bed before setting out to explore this most beautiful of areas.

Outside, take the steps to the glorious bistro dining area, where you can sit and enjoy the sun, listen to the steam trains and admire the views over the rooftops to Pickering Castle, surrounded by beautiful flowers, put there by the owner, just for you to enjoy.

Visit the heritage site of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and board the Pullman Dining Train to indulge in the unique experience of afternoon tea as you pass through the scenic landscape of the North York Moors National Park. This lovely cottage is the perfect retreat for your loved ones to in order to relax and unwind.

GROUND FLOOR:

Entrance Hall: This wide hallway provides plenty of space for your coats and boots after a day out and about.
Cloakroom: With WC and wash hand basin.
Kitchen/dining room:
The beamed kitchen is very well equipped and is in a contemporary style with granite work surfaces and boasts a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. In the utility area, there is a fridge freezer. The dining area is tucked away in a cosy nook with a table and four chairs, great to sit and enjoy a meal together. Why not pop into Pickering to one of the many food shops and conjure up a true Yorkshire feast from the best the area has to offer or sit at the table and watch the cook at work. This is a lovely traditional room with a contemporary twist.
Lounge: This room has some beautiful original beams and built-in salt cupboard. The living room has been beautifully designed and boasts a comfy sofa and two relaxing armchairs, one tucked away in a quiet corner with table and lamp, perfect for reading, and one with an oversized footstool. There is a coffee table under the window and a Smart TV on a stand. From the window, you can watch the trains setting off on their journey across the moors to Whitby.

FIRST FLOOR:
Staircase:
 This leads from the living room, 13 steps with open balustrades lead up to the upstairs landing.
Bedroom 1: A lovely traditional bedroom, having a Double bed, plenty of wardrobe space and two bedside cabinets with lamps. The window with beam above also adds to the overall cottage feel of this pretty room.
En-Suite: With a double shower, WC and vanity wash basin.
Bedroom 2: Another lovely room with a real cottage feel. Here you will find a double bed, a wardrobe for those holiday outfits and a dressing table with mirror. This looks out over the front of the cottage towards the railway line.
En-Suite: A lovely bathroom with single shower, WC and vanity wash basin.
Garden:
The garden is a lovely feature of this property; a real bonus. Accessed via steep steps at the rear of the cottage, it is a gravelled patio area with a painted bistro set and plenty of pots with colourful flowers.
