Property code: OC-ALBA12

The Albatross in Woolacombe village has spectacular uninterrupted views of Woolacombe Sands from almost every aspect of its large plot that includes a garden and two sun decks. New this year is the addition of The Nest, a stylish annexe in the garden that increases capacity to a total of 12 adults, or perhaps three families. To further enhance the holiday experience a traditional hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge pool are all located on a glass screened sun deck allowing your party to make the most of the stunning 270 degree views. Out of the main season, the main house, The Albatross, can still be let as a sleep 10 with The Nest sleeping 2 let separately.

This sizable detached 4-bedroom house plus 1–bedroomed annex is made for those who love to be beside the sea and relish not having to use the car. Just 200 meters from the award-winning Woolacombe beach, visitors are attracted by surfing, paddleboarding, sunbathing and sand-castle building, although this is also prime walking country with spectacular coastal trails past the colony of basking seals starting literally on the doorstep. Guests can easily saunter into the centre of Woolacombe and enjoy refreshments at the independent bars, cafes and ice-cream parlours, or perhaps pick up supplies to enjoy back at the house, inside or out.

In the house the lounge offers plenty of comfy seating and main TV with surround sound and streaming services. In the bay armchairs look out to sea beside a desk suitable for working from home. There is a Yamaha keyboard for the musically inclined. In the open plan kitchen-diner, a large picture window stretches across the front of the property and the dining table and chairs have been carefully positioned to enjoy the breath-taking sea views. There is a fully equipped and stylish kitchen, perfect for rustling up your favourite meals and a double-sided wood burner which makes this welcoming space cosy at any time of the year. An adjacent family room is well equipped to entertain the children with TV, books, a range of toys and table football. French doors lead onto the upper decked area with large wooden table chairs, benches and a swing seat. Steps lead down to a large sundeck with hot tub, sauna and cold plunge pool and plenty of comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the view.

In the annexe, an open plan lounge-kitchen-diner also has a desk, TV with surround sound, a woodburner and a view to the open ocean. The bathroom has a capacious shower.

All bedrooms in the main house offer sea/coastal views with bedroom two in the main house benefitting from a wonderful glass screened balcony with table and chairs, an ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee. The bedroom in The Nest has double aspect windows with garden views to catch the sun rising over the hills.

Outside there are many areas to explore: the wonderful lawned garden which surrounds the Nest has a climbing frame with swings, there is a balcony on the main house and the two sun decks all with magnificent sea views.

My grandchildren loved that. Several beaches close by, but steep hill might put some people off. Good walking in the area too. Sea perfect for surfing and body boarding as well aRead mores swimming. Good sand for cricket and sandcastles etc. we have used this property for a number of years and have already booked for 2025. Hide

We had an amazing time at Albatross 12. There were 9 of us staying and 1 dog. The location was perfect; close to the beach, shops and pubs. The views from the house were gorgeous. There was everything we needed, and things we didnt know we needed, in the house, and the owners had thoughtfully left ingredients for a cream tea for our arrival. Lots Read moreof room for us all to spread out and chill out, lots of board games that we played on the one rainy day we had. The kitchen was very well equipped and we managed to cook a roast dinner for 9 one day, as well as a bbq another day. We had the best holiday and would love to go back one day. Highly recommend it. Wonderful position, a property with good outside space with swings and most importantly a hot tub. Obviously mid winter stay so little time spent in garden. Us two oldies stayed in the nest which has obviously just been built, or refurbished. Was a delightful place and somewhere Id happily live. Had 5 grandkids for part of the stay and they had a fRead moreantastic time. Hide
