Badgers Rest is a cosy cottage right in the heart of Grosmont, with the steam railway on your doorstep. The charming village of Grosmont is a popular tourist destination, renowned for its heritage line with connections to Whitby and Pickering, and the beautiful main Esk Valley railway line between Middlesbrough and Whitby. The unparalleled beauty of the surrounding North York Moors and the coast are within a few miles. The North York Moors National Park offers fantastic opportunities for walking and cycling.

This pretty cottage has been refurbished with great taste by the owners keeping plenty of old world charm, along with modern conveniences. The open plan living area is a great place to relax after a day out sight-seeing and the large dining table is perfect for sitting around and making plans for the next day.

GROUND FLOOR
Entrance: Through to the open plan living area.
Lounge Area: A beautiful room tastefully decorated with beamed ceiling, a three-seater and a two-seater sofa, large coffee table, smaller table, standard lamp, Smart TV & DVD on cabinet, mirror. Selection of DVD's, games and toys to keep everyone entertained.
Kitchen /Dining Area:  A great kitchen with everything you need to cook a lovely meal of wonderful Yorkshire produce. With an electric oven, ceramic hob with hood over, fridge / freezer, washing machine and microwave, not to mention the Dolce Gusto coffee maker, perfect for your morning latte. Extendable dining table and four chairs and bench suitable for two. Hidden around the corner are coat hooks and space for shoes.

FIRST FLOOR
Bedroom 1: King size bed with two bedside cabinets and lamps, wardrobe, mirror. 
Bedroom 2: Double bed with bedside cabinets and lamps, built in cupboard with clothes storage, dressing table with stool and mirror.
Bedroom 3: Full size bunk beds, with chest of drawers, small table and lamp.
Bathroom: Bath with shower over and glass screen, washbasin with mirror over, toilet, heated towel rail and storage unit.

Outside: To the front of the property is a small patio area with a bistro furniture set. 

Pets: Sorry no pets allowed.
Parking: One designated parking space at the end of the row. 
Heating: Oil fired central heating.
Short breaks: Available at all times.
Notes: Towels are provided. No smoking including e-cigarettes. Mobile phone signal is good. Please remove outdoor footwear before going upstairs.

Badger's Rest is a lovely cottage in a great location in Grosmont. The cottage is very comfortable - beds, sofas, kitchen are all great and although there were just the two of us, it would work very well for six that are catered for.

We've thoroughly enjoyed our time at Badgers Rest. It's been great being so close to the railway and the year long ticket has allowed us to get out and about all week without using the car. Some great local walks, and plenty of steam trains, including the unexpected blessing of Sir Nigel Crossley, make a great combination. The engine shed was fasciRead morenating to see, especially if you like watching the end of the day "putting the engine to bed process". Well equipped and comfortable cottage, thank you especially for the welcome gifts and local information. Both Whitby & Pickering were worth the visit as were walks around Goathland and along the Esk Valley Trail to Whitby. With an annual pass for the railway we hope to visit again soon. Hide

Had a great short break at Badgers Rest. The cottage has everything you need and is warm and welcoming. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. The trains are a welcome distraction and took us on a nice trip to Pickering. The bus stop is only a few yards away and provides a convenient trip to Whitby. Sights in Whitby were great.
