Tucked away just off the high street, this fantastic character cottage provides an idyllic base for couples and families wanting to explore this stunning part of the country. Hawes is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, known for its natural beauty, rolling hills and scenic countryside. This charming market town boasts cobbled streets, traditional stone buildings and a friendly local community. Visit the Wensleydale Creamery (0.5 miles) or enjoy the weekly market, selling everything from fresh produce to clothing, jewellery and handmade crafts. For outdoor enthusiasts there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails to choose from and you can take in the stunning scenery as you go. The nearby Hardraw Force waterfall (1.5 miles) is a popular attraction and there are several other scenic waterfalls in the area that are well worth a visit.

As you approach this fantastic cottage you'll be struck by the beautiful stone exterior. Step inside away from the hustle and bustle of the street and into the cosy lounge, complete with a traditional wood burner that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cottage perfectly combines period features with home comforts and still retains its original charm, including flagstone floors, exposed stone walls and original beams throughout. Moving through to the snug you'll find a quieter area that's perfect for relaxing with a book after a long day exploring The Dales. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped and a great space for entertaining. With plenty of space around the dining table, enjoy lazy brunches or evening meals with friends and family. Upstairs you will find three well-appointed bedrooms, each as charming as the next. You can also find the family bathroom and a separate WC on this floor.

A door from the kitchen leads out to a delightful, enclosed courtyard garden adorned with fresh flowers and plants and a table for al-fresco dining. The perfect place to relax and unwind, enjoying a cup of tea in the morning sun or a glass of your favourite tipple in the evening.

The location of the house is really great. We started several shorter and longer walks from the doorstep.inside the house is very cosy and warm and has comfortable furnitures. Wifi,heating and everything in the kitchen and bathroom worked perfectly..Even some logs for the fireplace were in the house on arrival. Marys cottage was clean and comfortable and well equipped. The rear terrace was unswept and uncared for. I rang the holiday company and a pleasant and helpful handyman arrived quickly to do what he could to clean it up for us and the dogs. This area was also spoiled by a strong smell of oil if the heating was running. Hawes itself is a friendly Read moremarket town and we enjoyed staying there. Hide

The cottage is very well placed in the town just off the main high street, everthing we needed was provided except for a cleaning spray for the kitchen. Bedrooms were very comfortable with good mattress's. overall we loved staying there and would love to come back at some point. The only issue we had was in the garden with the dogs! they quickly Read morediscovered the local stray cat had decided to have kittens under the oil tank, so we had to fence off the top part of the garden, but they were very cute!!! Enjoyed our holiday. Cottage had lots of character, everything we required in the kitchen, beds comfy and added bonus of a small enclosed garden and parking on the cobbles at the front. Would return.

A very good cottage and handy for all the shops and everywhere we wanted to visit nearby. Parking outside very useful especially as we had mobility issues.

Lovley cottage, very comfortable beds, great location. Well equipped kitchen.Nice to have outside space for sitting out for morning coffee. Loved the stone floors full of character. The piano in the reading room went down well . A Great cottage we would definitely stay again .

Excellent location, just a 1 minute walk to the high street. Cottage was clean, and cosy. The stone stairs are quite steep, so be aware if you have mobility issues. The garden smelt strongly of heating oil, due to the boiler and tank being in the garden. Washing machine was in a derelict outbuilding, so wasnt usable. Cottage had a very nice range mRead moreaster oven and hob. There was a nice log burner. We loved the digital piano, that was a nice touch. As was the goodies. We very much enjoyed our stay. Hide
