Whitby Retreat is a fantastic modern property situated on the edge of Whitby on a new development. It benefits from three parking spaces and a lovely south facing garden, which is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the sun. Perfectly positioned on the outskirts of Whitby, a short walk takes you into the town centre and all it has to offer or you can take a drive up onto the stunning North York Moors and bask in the beauty of this fantastic area with its stunning views and cycle and walking trails. There are also a number of walking and cycle trails close to the house to explore. Whatever you choose to do, you will be spoilt for choice and Whitby Retreat is the perfect base to begin your exploring.

With its contemporary furnishings and up to the minute bathroom and kitchen designs, you will thoroughly enjoy your time away from home. The detached property has lots of windows in most of its rooms, allowing loads of natural light to flood into the rooms. Enjoy making a meal in the well equipped kitchen then move through the separate dining room to eat, throwing open the French doors to let the air flow through, or if the weather is good, why not take it out through the patio doors and eat al fresco at the table and chairs in the enclosed south facing garden. Or you can snuggle up in the lounge to relax after a long day walking around the cobbled streets of Whitby taking in the sea air. With the added bonus of the snug for those who want to get away for some peace and quiet, read a book or just relax with a glass of wine.

The comfortable bedrooms with loads of storage and TV’s, and with the added luxury of an en-suite, will give you a wonderful night’s sleep to prepare you for more sightseeing. The overall comfort and quality of this property adds to your holiday experience.

GROUND FLOOR:
Entrance hall: 
Spacious area leading to all rooms and a staircase to the upper floor. Here you will find and table and lamp and a seating with space for your shoes. There is a storage cupboard with all those essentials such as ironing board and vacuum cleaner.
Cloakroom: With corner sink and mirror over, WC.
Lounge: A spacious lounge with two windows overlooking the front. Here you will find two 3-seater bespoke Harlequin sofas and two chairs along with stunning wooden occasional tables and a large coffee table, all made from reclaimed fishing boats, truly unique furniture. There is a barrel stool for extra seating, all adding to the style of the room. The large screen Smart TV stands on the stunning TV unit and this wonderful room has plenty of mood lighting from various lamps.
Snug/Games Room:  The perfect room for getting away from it all with a two-seater bed settee and TV. There are shelves with books and games for your entertainment.
Dining Room: At the rear overlooking the garden with French windows out, this room houses the large wood table which has five comfy chairs and a bench for three. Against one wall is a sideboard, hiding more games for you to challenge each other with, should the weather turn. Resting on top is the very unusual crab lamp in keeoing with the Whitby theme.
Dining Kitchen: This spacious room has another set of French windows onto the rear garden and a two-seater sofa to sit on and enjoy your morning coffee. The kitchen area is fitting with modern units and granite worktops, extending into a breakfast bar with two stools, over which is another wall mounted TV. Here you will find an integrated fridge freezer and dishwasher, two built-in self cleaning ovens, a five-ring induction hob and a cutting edge hood above. There is a Bosch Tassimo coffee maker, ideal for making your morning speciality coffee.
Utility: Entered from both the kitchen and the driveway, this houses the washing machine and an extra sink. Also you will find coat hooks here. Washer dryer 

FIRST FLOOR:
Landing: 
The landing looks over the galleried staircase. Here, there is a small console table and lamp, which can be left on for those afraid of the dark.
Bedroom 1:
 Double bed with bedside cabinets and lamps, a full wall of mirrored wardrobes for all your storage needs, dressing table with mirror and stool, small cabinet with TV.
En-suite: A full bathroom with large walk in shower, bath, wash basin with mirrored cupboard, WC and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2: Double bed, bedside cabinets with lamps, chair, chest of drawers with TV and a built in wardrobe.
Bathroom: Modern bathroom suite of bath, WC and wash hand basin with mirrored cupboard over, a separate large walk in shower.
Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom with bedside cabinet between and lamp, two tall chest of drawers with a mirror, built in wardrobe.
Bedroom 4: Single bed and bedside table with lamp, chair and a tall chest of drawers with mirror and built in wardrobe.

Outside: To the rear of the property is a large enclosed garden facing south, mostly laid to lawn, with plenty of room for the table and chairs provided. There is use of the garage, the perfect secure place to store bikes or surf boards. At the side is a tarmac drive, which will fit up to three cars.

This is an excellent spacious cottage in a good location, only 15 minutes walk downhill into Whitby. On arrival the cottage was very clean and welcoming with a well equipped kitchen which had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. All the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The lounge is also very spacious with lovely comfortable sofas. ThRead moree cottage also has the bonus of a safe and enclosed garden, ideal for our granddaughter to play in. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a place to stay in Whitby without being in the busy town centre. Hide

We had a lovely long weekend celebrating our mams 80th birthday, the house is lovely and spacious and is everybit as good as the photographs, we were a family of 3 generations and it suited us perfectly. A nice downhill walk into Whitby centre which is only about a mile away and plenty taxis if you don't want to walk back up the hill. We had a loRead morevely time and will definitely return. Hide

Nice property lovely art work but the owners need to live there to see whats missing! Insufficient glasses ! Poor hearing controls and lack of places for soap in the showers just a few!

Fabulous property!! Beautiful decor, light, spacious, very well equipped and immaculate! Everything had been thought of, to make a really comfortable stay. Great location with plenty of parking.
