This traditional terraced fisherman’s cottage is perfectly located in a prime spot on the Jurassic Coast offering fantastic views, straight from its patio, of the traditional fishing village of Beer. It is a welcoming base for families or friends looking to enjoy the Jurassic Coast and the South West Coast Path. There are so many attractions and features to enjoy within and around the village of Beer. For the younger members of the group, there are two playgrounds, a small discovery centre and plenty of opportunities for rock pooling, paddling and enjoying the beach. A pleasant downhill walk will take you to many of the amenities on offer. Beer Quarry Caves are 1 mile away, Whitecliff viewpoint is 0.5 miles, and Seaton, with its beach, tramway, and golf club, is 1.5 miles away. Just 5.5 miles away is The Donkey Sanctuary, where you can meet the resident donkeys and learn all about the sanctuary’s work.
The porch offers a handy place for parasols, flip-flops, wetsuits, beach bags and buckets in the warmer months, and wellies, coats and walking gear in the cooler months. From the moment you step into the cosy and welcoming lounge/dining area, with restored parquet flooring and original features, you will feel instantly at home. Light, bright and airy throughout, the cottage is equally suited to sunny summer days spent enjoying the beach and sunny patio outside, as it is to cosy evenings by the fire after a day exploring the coastline. The sumptuous sofas offer the perfect place to sit back and relax in and for those chillier evenings, the glowing wood burner will definitely be a hit. A trunk of books, maps, games and DVDs provides plenty of entertainment throughout your stay. The well-equipped kitchen is well equipped for family meals and holiday cooking. When it comes to dining, you have the option to enjoy a feast at the large dining-table inside or why not step outside and enjoy dining al fresco on your enclosed patio? Also on the ground floor is a separate WC with styling inspired by a traditional captain’s cabin. three light and bright bedrooms, take your pick from a king bedroom offering views out over Beer, a charming double room and a single bedroom. The third bedroom can be enjoyed as a spacious single room or configured as a twin on request, with an additional single bed supplied. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over the bath.
Outside, the enclosed patio is attached directly to the cottage, a standout feature within the terrace as the neighbouring outside spaces sit across the lane. This makes it especially convenient for families moving between the house and outdoor space. The patio has seating for six, a parasol, and views over the village, church, and towards the sea. A parking permit is provided for Central Beer car park, a short distance from the cottage. Further parking may be available on Long Hill and some nearby roads, subject to restrictions.
