What a beautiful house and grounds. We were so lucky to have come at the end of May as all the rhododendrons were in flower, The house was spectacular with gorgeous bedrooms, but double beds werent ideal. 5 Stars for a total family experience. Our family ranged from 6 years to 70 and a brilliant time was had by all. The indoor pool, steam, and jacuzzi was almost never out of use apart from when we dragged ourselves away to visit local attractions, which there are many and varied. saving up for our next visit.

Oct 2025, 14 of us met up for a school reunion to celebrate our 60th Birthdays. We could not have been more pleased. Lisa supplied excellent information about the house, the facilities and the surrounding areas before arrival, from restaurants to taxi numbers, very though. On arrival there was milk in the fridge and biscuits to go with your coffee Read more(also provided). Plenty of ice in the freezers if you prefer a tipple instead. The kitchen is the hub of the holiday, and seats 8 at a table, plus a sofa and two bar stools. The dining room is great, you can all sit together for your evening meal, a real bonus. We ordered pizza one night, Indian (from Aroma Lounge - could recommend) another and used both kitchens to cook a full Sunday roast and Apple crumble for 14 on our last day. All the pots, pans, trays etc. you need are here. The dishwasher was never off! The pool is a great bonus, we spent many hours playing water volleyball and enjoying the sauna's and gym. We didn't actually get time for more than a glance at the games rooms, we definitely should have booked to stay longer. If you're worried about the cold don't be, the heating kicks in on a timer and all was toasty. They even have a spare wheelchair, should one of your party need it. Excellent all round, we would have no hesitation recommending Stancliffe Hall and its owners to anyone. Hide

Stancliffe Hall is an outstanding venue for a large party; in our case 15 adults and two infants celebrating a big family birthday. We instantly settled into this beaytifully appointed and presented property. Every detail has been attended to with care. The property has everything a large group needs regardless of weather. The spa / leisure cenRead moretre is equipped and finished to the highest standard and was the highlight of our stay. The bedrooms are beautiful and the large kitchen and dining room became our family meeting rooms. Finally, the management and staff were highly professional, friendly and extremely helpful at all times. We had a wonderful stay in this amazing property. Hide

Firstly, the photos do not do this property full justice. It is extremely large inside with masses of space for people to enjoy their own space or gather together. The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are fantastic, real gems. Plenty of space outside to wander around, exercise the dog and enjoy the views from a number of outside seatingRead more arrangements. Highly recommended for family or family and friends gatherings. We were a group of 17 comprising family and friends, including 3 teenagers who spent the majority of their time in the pool with the provided game equipment. Hide

Just WOW, a group of us booked this for a 60th Birthday Celebration. We have stayed in some fabulous big houses over the years however, this one simply excelled in virtually everything. The pictures really don't do the location the justice it deserves. It is huge! We all got lost on the first day... there is plenty of room for everyone to have theiRead morer own bit of space or, as usual, the Kitchen (or one of the kitchens I should say) was rarely empty. The pool is an extremely generous 20m and absolutely divine, there were balls and inflatables which instigated a highly competitive game of water volleyball one afternoon! The grounds are immaculate, any horticulturists planning to visit will greatly admire the planting. Overall, I cannot recommend Stancliffe Hall highly enough! We almostbooked another house due to the photos and the fact that there were only double beds with 2 Kings. I can only say that I am extremely glad that we did book here, it's rare I say this any longer, the weekend was worth every penny and we had the most fabulous time. The owner's information and attention to detail was truly welcomed and appreciated. Thank you. Hide
