  • A beautiful family cottage in the historic village of Eyam
  • Offering cosy accommodation for up to five guests discovering the heart of the Peak District
  • Featuring three cosy bedrooms and a charming patio
Property code: OC-DCHERB

Herbal Cottage is a delightful old stone cottage, part of the village’s amazing history but now totally renovated to create a superb holiday retreat. There is a cosy lounge, a well-fitted dining kitchen, a contemporary ground floor bathroom, three well presented bedrooms and a first floor cloakroom/WC.

Set in the ‘picture postcard’ village of Eyam, it is just a wander down the lane to the local stores, café, tea rooms and post office. Eyam Hall’s ‘Courtyard’ with its bar, café, restaurant and craft centre is also worth a visit, as is the local museum dedicated to the heroism of the villagers during the plague of 1666. Climb to the top of Eyam Edge for breath-taking Peak District views.

Deep in the Peak District National Park, there are few better places than this for a countryside holiday. Live life as a Blue John miner in Castleton’s caverns, relive the famous ‘Dambusters’ by the Derwent Valley Dams, spot the white hares as you wander across the moorlands of Kinder Scout. If you fancy something less strenuous then just sit on the patio and watch village life go by on the quiet lane outside. But remember that Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell’s amazing Monday market and famous puddings are less than a half hour’s drive away.

The cottage was very comfortable, warm and in an ideal location just a minute walk from the village centre. The parking space is for just a small car which is mentioned, we spoke to the staff in the Miners Arms and were allowed to park there which is just a three minute walk

Location is superb in a lovely little village near to all the places in the Peak District you might want to visit. The cottage itself is a really comfy/cosy and has absolutely everything you could need. The owner is himself a local so he is always only a phone call away should you need anything. Definitely worth a visit

Lovely comfortable cottage in a fantastic location. Car parking is tight so if your car is bigger than a Ford fiesta you probably won't fit. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped with everything you could need if you decided to self cater (including a dishwasher). This beautiful little cottage was perfect for our holiday. Everything we needed was provided for us, even a pint of milk and a packet of cookies. It was clean and comfortable and welcoming. The location is fantastic: right next to two tea rooms and a pub, and Eyam is a brilliant hub from which to explore the Peak District.

We didnt visit the museum as we had the dog with us, but there were lots of boards around the village telling you about the history. Took the bus to Bakewell one day which was lovely. Hide
