Beadnell village has an 18th-century harbour, once used by gin smugglers, a selection of pubs and cafes, and the long, golden sand of Beadnell Bay Beach. The beach is 0.8 miles from the property and here the energetic can try their hand at kayaking, windsurfing, and wakeboarding. Alternatively, simply walk along the coastal paths and enjoy the stunning scenery. From the property, excellent routes include the 2-mile walk to Seahouses village with its shops and bustling harbour, or the 5-mile hike to Newton-by-the-Sea. For days out, children will love Alnwick Castle – the backdrop for some of the Harry Potter films – where you can discover the medieval alchemist, have a go at some archery or learn to fly a broomstick.

Inside the decor is fresh and modern with every room on the ground floor drenched in light from the large windows. The spacious lounge is all easy comfort with whitewashed walls, large sofas, and a fantastic wood burner. Soft furnishings and a large TV make this the perfect room for a family to socialise and relax in, and extra touches include seaside pictures and artefacts on the walls making this a really inviting space. Leading off from the living area is a brightly coloured dining room with bespoke plantation shutters over floor-to-ceiling windows. The dining table has bench seating and chairs for six people and overlooks the neat garden while the separate kitchen is kitted out with all the appliances you’ll need to create memorable meals. Featuring a two king-size bedrooms, the rooms are wonderfully soothing with neutral tones, shuttered windows, and ambient lighting. The rooms share a generously sized family bathroom.

Loved the cottage stay, was very much home from home, had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Location is brilliant for great scenic walks, easy accessible to Seahouses, Beadnell Bay and Bamburgh. Village has fabulous eateries, highly recommend. The ad is misleading for this property. Blinds kept down as we backed onto caravan site looking out at gas cylinders and dustbins. Would not have booked this cottage had we known also some sort of builders yard at the side of cottage could see clearly through fence
