Located in the quiet hamlet of Tughall Steads on the Northumberland coastline, sits this cheerful three-bedroom property. Surrounded by farmland and close to the coastline, it’s the perfect retreat for a family seeking outdoor activity. Newton-by-the-Sea is 2.7 miles from the property and is a picturesque village with a lovely sandy beach. Swim in the sea, go rock pooling, or visit the freshwater nature reserve and observe the migrating birds. The more energetic can head 4-miles from the property to Beadnell Bay beach and spend the day kayaking, windsurfing, or wakeboarding. Alternatively, simply walk along the coastal paths and enjoy the stunning scenery. If you have children in tow, why not head 11 miles to the fabulous Alnwick Castle where you can discover the medieval alchemist, have a go at some archery or learn to fly a broomstick.

The ground floor is a welcoming, open-plan space with colourful furnishings, light tones, and cheerful artwork on the walls. In the lounge, a large sofa and comfortable chairs invite you to sit and chat with friends and family while toys and games will keep the children entertained. There’s also a wood burner to keep things cosy on chillier days. From the lounge, step through to the dining area and enjoy a sociable meal at the table seating seven people, or for less formal meals eat at the small table in the kitted-out kitchen and soak up the glorious garden views. From the ground floor, climb the stairs to the first floor where the three, welcoming bedrooms are located. Featuring two king-size beds and a bunk bed, the rooms are a good size and adorned with fresh modern furnishings. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there’s also a large family bathroom on this floor with large, walk-in shower and double hand basins.

From the kitchen, step outside into the extensive garden. Enjoy a morning coffee at the patio table or take it easy with a good book on the neat lawn. Children will also love the double swing and Wendy house, and they can even pick the apples, pears, and berries in the garden’s orchard.

A fantastic cottage in a great location for exploring Northumberland. The cottage was well-equipped and very comfortable. Would highly recommended.

This was an ideal house for a family party of four adults and four kids (albeit babe in arms). Very quiet. Ideally situated between beaches. Highly recommend.

We had the most brilliant weekend at the Apple Store. It is a beautiful cottage and incredibly well equipped in all rooms, so much thought has gone into it. We would love to return! Our dog Bobby was also a very happy chap all weekend! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Apple Store is located in small development. Premises is equipped to a very high standard. Big secure garden with wooden garden furniture. Excellent value for money. Great base for exploring the Northumberland, particularly the coastal area
