This contemporary, second-floor apartment is perfect for a family or several friends travelling together. It is situated in an attractive modern apartment block right on the marina in the boat-faring town of Amble. Maritime enthusiasts will enjoy watching the activity on the water and strolling along the waterfront. The area has a pleasant holiday atmosphere with cafes and ice cream parlours dotted around wide waterfront promenades. The town itself has much to offer with a good range of shops to browse and restaurants to discover. During the summer months, visitors can hop on a boat trip out to Coquet Island, known for its varied seabird population. The village of Warkworth, with its historic castle, art gallery and shops, is just 2 miles away. Another good destination is the market town of Alnwick 9 miles away with its impressive castle and gardens that were featured in both the Harry Potter films and period drama, Downton Abbey.

The apartment has been beautifully put together with inspiring design features throughout. It is located on the second floor of a four-storey apartment block with lift and stair access. Guests enter via a shared vestibule and make their way up to the front door. Once inside there is an impressive open-plan living area with wooden floors and sliding glass doors taking up a good portion of one side allowing the light to flood the space and offering beautiful views of the marina. These doors lead out to a decked balcony and are directly above the bustling harbour. A welcoming kitchen is to one side with an island breakfast bar and four stools. Adjacent to this is a wooden dining table, so there is plenty of space to prepare and enjoy meals, plus it means that the chef of the group is never lonely! Two plush sofas are arranged around a large coffee table and there are easy chairs over by the window. The two bright and airy bedrooms have wooden floors, pleasant views and both are beautifully decorated. The master bedroom is a spacious king-size with an en-suite shower room, whilst the second bedroom is an inviting twin room. A sleek family bathroom features a shower over a bath and a heated towel rail and completes the floor.

Sliding back the large, glass doors in the living space guests can access an impressive wooden deck looking out across the marina. This is the ideal spot to sit and enjoy your morning coffee as you watch the comings and goings on the waterway below.

We had a lovely week in the Nelson. The apartment was tastefully decorated, comfortably warm with great beds. A very well stocked welcome pack was gratefully received. We enjoyed Amble very much, great restaurants, good markets and shops, with lots of places to explore in the wider area. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the wifi not talking tRead moreo the tv resulting in an intermittent signal interference. Owner will request the Property Manager to check this out at the changeover. we also had a few minor maintenance issues which could be easily resolved. These issues did not prevent us from having a lovely time at the Nelson. all-in-all a very good week. Hide

Nelson is an excellent apartment with quirky furniture, very comfortable beds, amazing views and a very well equipped kitchen. It is also very warm and in a great location close ti the lively hsrbour area..

The Nelson is everything you want from a holiday home and more. It's eclectic decor is so warm and welcoming, as are its cosy, really good sized rooms. The views over the marina are just fantastic and span for miles, with Warkworth Castle in the distance. The Marina is lovely. Just below the balcony of the apartment, you will often find CormerRead moreonts diving for fish when the tide is turning. We spent hours watching them and found their 'wing drying' fascinating. They are such beautiful and majestic creatures. Our favourite restaurant, year on year has got to be Jasper's, with its fabulous choice of fish dishes. How can somewhere so compact and bijou pack so much of a punch! So friendly, warm and welcoming, always with a complementary dram of Alnwick Rum, to finish things off. It's so near to the apartment, less than 5 minutes walk as is a really well stocked Tesco local. Breakfast is sorted by walking 20 yards across from the apartment block, where you get a really good choice of tasty food, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can also enjoy a glass of wine there as the sun goes down in its generous outside space, with a very short walk back to the apartment. If you need a bit of a bigger shop, there's a large Morrisons about a mile away. Parking at the apartment is also great, right underneath it, with space for two cars designated just for the apartment. The owners have thought of everything, and clearly have placed a lot of thought (and love) into making this apartment truly a home from home. We had a wonderful experience. A welcome pack was a lovely touch and we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived, to when we left. Beautifully furnished to make you feel totally at home. We really enjoyed our stay, the view from the picture window was so interesting especially when the boatyard men operated the crane to lift boats in and out of the marina. Food at The Old Boathouse and the Fish Shack were excellent. The pier made a great walk for our daily constitutional and there are very pretty beaches to both North and South.

This is a beautiful apartment with stunning views. Fabulously situated in the town of Amble with an abundance of eating places, my personal favourite being the Old Boathouse for its fantastic fresh seafood. The apartment is very luxurious and situated in a really picturesque location. We spent 2 very relaxed weeks there. Great local restaurants and close to a fast EV charger and local shops. Perfect for planning trips to the beautiful Northumberland countryside. A lucky find!

Absolutely fabulous apartment. The view was jaw droppingly good. Location was perfect for days out, nearby restaurants, and bar (serving my favourite beer) only a few meters away. Very spacious and parking was convenient. Loved it. Will plan to revisit in a couple of years time, and if the apartment is still a holiday let - we would book it again.

If you want a coastal town in Northumberland offering a whole range of amenities,and accommodation ( albeit on the pricier scale but offering wonderful panoramas all the way to Warkworth Castle) situated right in the town centre,then look no further.
