Little Walsingham is an ancient and historic medieval village, established in 1061 and is home to The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and Walsingham Abbey grounds, which is picture perfect for walks in the early spring with its display of snowdrops.  The village also as an excellent and award-winning farm shop, numerous cafes and two good pubs. Great Walsingham has a small craft centre, and an award-winning pie shop with a café that also sells local art. Little and Great Walsingham are only a mile apart and you would think by the names that Little would be the smaller of the two, but this is not the case.  Both villages are surrounded by lovely, undulating countryside between the picturesque Glaven Valley and the North Norfolk Coast and the sandy beaches of Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham are just a short distance away. Cycle routes 1 & 2 are on the doorstep and will take you to the coastal villages of Cley, Salthouse and Weybourne and if you want to leave the car behind and discover the rest of the coast, pick up the Coast Hopper bus in the village, which runs from Cromer in the east to Hunstanton in the West.

The Wedge is a delightful cottage to stay in, warm and welcoming. A stroll from an excellent pub with great food. Easy walking/cycling distance to the Abbey and shrines. We visited NT Blickling and Fellbrig and some of the most beautiful Norfolk Churches in Simon Jenkin's guide.

Cottage was very well equipped. My husband found using the stairs a bit of a problem, but he has been unwell. There was everything you needed and was spotlessly clean but maybe not for older people
