Property code: OC-LD150

The Loft is a well-proportioned twin-level apartment in the charming, central Lake District town of Ambleside. Historically, this apartment is of some significance as it was the former gallery space of the Heaton Cooper family of artists. Occupying the second and third floors of a corner site, traditional Lakeland stone building, The Loft is very conveniently located for Ambleside’s many attractions and shops, which are just a three minute walk from this large property. Pubs and restaurants are also in close proximity, one of which - the very popular Lily Bar - is right on your doorstep.

Sleeping up to ten people in five large bedrooms, The Loft makes an ideal holiday home for larger, and extended, family get-togethers and holidays and it is also the ideal property for groups of friends or reunions.

Being located in Ambleside, and with its generously sized laundry & utility room, The Loft also makes for the perfect, comfortable, self-catering base for fell walking, rambling or activity groups & clubs where a social get together in the Open Plan Kitchen, Dining and Living area to discuss the day’s experiences and sights is sure to be one of the highlights of any active or walking holiday in the Lakes.

The hub of The Loft is, most certainly, the former gallery space which has been converted into a modern, light and airy combined Living, Cooking and Dining room.  Retaining some of its original features, this lovely room has windows on two sides as well as two skylights which make for a naturally well lit and airy space that also affords lovely views over Ambleside and to the fells beyond.

Despite being literally a three minute walk from the bustling heart of Ambleside, once you climb the two flights of stairs up to and enter The Loft you enter a property of space, calm and light.  From many of the property’s windows you can glimpse bird’s eye views of the Lakeland Fells and you will find it hard to avert your gaze from the scenery that surrounds you.

As you enter The Loft Apartment, the first floor comprises two, very generously proportioned Bedrooms, a large Shower Room with WC, a Utility & Cloak Room and a small WC, all linked by a u-shaped corridor.

A staircase takes you up to the second floor of the apartment. All of the rooms on this floor all branch off from a central hallway and consists of three Bedrooms, a Shower Room with WC, a smaller Shower Room and the property’s signature feature the lovely combined Kitchen, Dining and Living area.

Great location, we were told there are 2 car parks near by, one by the bus garage is short duration and no over night stay so best suggest the one in Lake rd and buy 3 or 7 day pass, bedrooms have loads of floor space but not really usable, they need some type of dresser/ storage for cases etc, the apartment needs some tlc and the staircase needs Read morea good clean, I would still recommend this apartment to family and friends but I would point these things out to them,ps good value for money at present but if upgrades were done I would except to pay slightly more Hide

We were a group of 8 ladies of a certain age .. we had a wonderful time .. the loft was ideal for a group to socialise and relax. Only downside the stairs but we were in the top floor! Quote a lot of noise from a bar opposite but not a lot you can do about that.

Fantastic holiday apartment. We stayed here as a group of friends with 3 babies under 2, and it had all the amenities we could want. The bedrooms were all a great size for extra cots etc and very well sound proofed. The kitchen/living space was perfect for being together as a family.

Brilliant location in central Ambleside - Friday night was a bit noisy with a bar opposite but fine on other nights. There was a lot of stairs in the property both inside and to access it. Car parking was as easy as website implied - we did the 1.50 before 9am to park for the day via the car parking app!

We chose the property for a family get together. Great location and plenty of room. Don't book if you're not good with stairs. Noise from Lily's Bar can disturb your sleep. Great property but expensive for what you get.

Spent a lovely weekend in the Loft for my 50th birthday with friends. It does get nosy with the music from the pub over the road but nothing a set of earplugs would fix! Fab apartment in a beautiful setting!
