Secret Garden Cottage is a charming characterful cottage tucked away on the quiet pedestrian walkway of Bull Hill, a stone’s throw from shops, pubs and restaurants in Fore Street.  As the name suggests it has it’s own secret garden just across the lane, where guests can relax with a book or dine alfresco, whilst taking in the wonderful river views. The shaker style kitchen has French doors that open onto a balcony overlooking rooftops towards the river, the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee.  A spiral staircase leads downstairs to two bedrooms, served by a family shower room.

Fowey is positioned on the South West Coast Path as well as the Saints’ Way so is an ideal location for walkers.  The town is a haven for water-sports and the sandy beach at Readymoney Cove lies in a sheltered spot overlooking Polruan at the mouth of the Fowey Estuary with the remains of the 16th century St Catherine’s Castle standing on the headland above.

Enter at ground floor;

Kitchen/Dining Area: Well equipped, farmhouse style kitchen with oak dining table and four chairs. Ceramic hob, electric fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. French door to balcony area with table and chairs.
Lounge Area: Comfy sofas, Smart TV, DVD player, CD player with USB for iPod etc.   Original stone fireplace with Cornish range (not in use).

Narrow Spiral staircase to lower floor (hatch available for large luggage):

Bedroom 1: King size bed, chest of drawers, bedside tables and reading lamps, fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom 2: Double bed, chest of drawers, bedside tables and reading lamps, fitted wardrobe and door to small courtyard.
Shower room: Walk in shower with WC, hand basin and heated towel rail.

Garden:  Accessed through gate across the lane and via approx. 20 garden steps (please be careful of uneven surface). Beautiful patio areas with chalet and garden furniture, pergola, flowers, vines, fruit trees and spring bulbs.
Parking: Cars can pull in to unload at Bull Hill steps just 10 yards away. Short stay car parking available on Albert Quay nearby. Further local public parking available nearby. See Fowey parking for details of public car parks.

Power and Heat: Electricity and gas included in rent; gas fired central heating.
Bedding and Linen: Pillows & duvets included; bed linen and towels (not beach) provided.
Baby Equipment: Not provided as the property is unsuitable for children under 12yrs
Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200, which is payable to Cornish Horizons with the final balance of your holiday and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Absolutely beautiful little 'haven'...the Secret Garden is wonderful...with spectacular views. We enjoyed some sunny afternoons up there! Even the tiny little patio outside the kitchen doors was a perfect spot for morning coffee. A perfect location tucked away in the town, close to all amenities. We didn't need to use our car at all! Great location. Be aware tight spiral staircase to bedrooms and bathroom may not suit all. Strong musty smell present all week even with windows open and good weather. Well equipped kitchen.

Lovely little cottage and great garden, well equipped and in a good location, your best to plan your car parking in advance. We would recommend this stay and would definitely try to return if we come back to Fowey.
