Located in the quiet village of Southrepps and originally the Registrar’s house, South Cottage offers a tranquil retreat that is full of character and charm. The cottage is only a short stroll to The Suffield Arms and has been planned to easily accommodate its nine guests in comfort. There are two TV areas so everyone can be happily entertained, the spacious kitchen/dining room has a snug space with an inglenook fireplace and wood burner at the far end, and if you want to listen to good music, there is a record deck and selection of vinyls to enjoy in the sitting room. The well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen has a breakfast bar, a range cooker and there are, thoughtfully, two dishwashers in the house. There is a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite, which has its own wheelchair friendly ramp and independent entrance to the cottage, perfect for those not wishing to deal with stairs. The remaining four bedrooms are on the first floor and include an American four poster, a double room, a twin room and a queen sized single. A further en-suite and a family bathroom are also on this floor. The pretty gardens are accessible from both sides of the cottage. The front garden features a rose arbour leading to the kitchen entrance and beyond the rear garden lies Southrepps Nature Reserve, which is a haven for wildlife. Southrepps is an attractive village in a rural location with a traditional pub, The Vernon Arms and a good gastro pub, The Suffield Arms, the latter being only a 10-minute stroll from South Cottage. The village also has a small shop for basics and is within easy reach of the coastal resort of Cromer with its Blue Flag beach and villages of the east coast. With local walks directly from the door and within easy reach of both Paston Way, Weavers Way and the Bittern Line Ramble, there is much to explore on foot. If cycling is your thing, it is easy to tap into the Quiet Lanes Explorer trail which runs through this part of the county and for history buffs the National Trusts' Felbrigg Estate and Blickling Hall should not be missed. There is plenty to entertain the younger generation too with a Magic Kingdom at North Walsham, a zoo at Cromer and a Playbarn at Mundesley to name just a few, whilst the whole family can enjoy the experience of the steam train era at the Bure Valley Railway in Aylsham to the south, which will take you to The Broads or The Poppy Line Railway in Sheringham to the north, which runs to the elegant Georgian town of Holt.
