Japonica Cottage is a quaint holiday home set within the quiet and sleepy village of Wenhaston, in the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This cosy bolthole is ideal for romantic getaways to this gorgeous part of the county with plenty of walks directly from your door and the wonderful coastline just a short drive away.

This bright and beautiful property has undergone a complete transformation to create a welcoming home for you to enjoy. The open plan ground floor has everything you could need during your stay to relax and unwind. Here you will find a fully equipped kitchen with views over the garden, a dining area to enjoy some home cooked meals and a lovely sitting area perfect for retiring to after a day exploring the local delights. Upstairs boasts a generous bedroom with a kingsize bed and a bathroom.

Early mornings can be spent in the garden watching the birds dance in the sky with a cup of coffee and come the evenings, you can dine al fresco. The delights of Dunwich and Southwold are just 6 miles away so you can be walking along the sandy shores in no time. The wonderful outdoor Theatre and restaurant Husk with its supper clubs are less than two miles away in nearby Thorington. This lovely holiday home is ready and waiting for your next Suffolk staycation.

Parking: On street parking directly outside property. Further parking up lane.
Pets: 2 pets welcome.
Heating: Underfloor electric heating on ground floor.  Electric storage heater in bedroom.
Notes: Bed linens and towels provided. Please bring your own beach towels. The garden has a shared access point across the garden with neighbouring property.  Laundry facilities shared with next door property Spindrift Cottage and located in their garden.

Wenhaston is a pretty village, with an excellent country pub within walking distance of the cottage, which serves food and local ales. There are also three lovely areas of common within the parish which are ideal for local walks. There are coastal resorts and nature reserves within easy reach. Wenhaston is only six miles from Southwold and Walberswick, with Minsmere approximately 8 miles away. The Norfolk Broads and many beauty spots can be found within half an hours drive. Halesworth, four miles away, has a regular train service from Norwich and London. There is a regular bus service through the village to Southwold and Lowestoft.

Thank you for the goodies left for us ,it is really nice to be able to come in and be able to have a hot drink and something to eat when you 1st arrive , much appreciated. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and has everything you need. The garden was perfect for our dog and a nice patio to sit on. This is our second visit.

A fabulously clean, comfortable and well appointed cottage. The bed is extremely comfortable and a good power shower. All the sheets, towels and soaps are excellent quality. Definitely the cleanest dog friendly cottage weve stayed in. The large garden is extremely secure with discreet wire fencing surrounding the whole of it. A great base for exploRead morering the Suffolk coast. There is also a pub at each end of the road, easily walkable, but will need a torch at night. We favoured The Queens Head, Blyford 0.7 miles. Great food and fantastic staff. The Star Inn didnt have a chef when we went, so no food. Parking is the only issue here. There is space for one car outside, but you will need to tuck it tight against the wall. However, there is a parking bay 25 meters further down the road. If you get a chance go to the Queens Head Inn at Bramfield. A 2.5 mile drive, but amazing. We will definitely book here again. Thankyou. Hide

A quant lovely cottage really comfortable and homely, only a short walk to the local pub, the Star Inn also very pleasant.

We were very happy with the cottage overall and have booked again for next year. The actual cottage was excellent and the garden perfect for our two dogs to use, being very large and fully enclosed. Japonica cottage was a lovely place to stay for a relaxing break with our two dogs! The decorating was done to a high standard, every room was fresh and clean! The whole place was very clean, with lots of thought being given to making guests feel comfortable, and at home! Myself, my husband and our two large dogs had a lovely week there! The gaRead morerden was large enough for them to have a good run, without fear of them escaping! It was very central for visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh, and surrounding areas! Lots of places to eat, and, an Edwardian cinema in Leiston which is well worth a visit if you like films! All in all..couldnt fault anything! Hide

We had a wonderful week at Japonica Cottage. It was a cosy cottage, with a nice little garden, so ideal for the two of us and the dog. The village is lovely and quiet, with interesting, quirky houses and lots of places to walk. The Star is a great pub for a drink (we didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food) and the locals were very chatty anRead mored welcoming. Great base to explore Suffolk. The whole cottage was lovely, kitchen and oven especially superb our Xmas Dinner cooked perfectly , we did find sink in upstairs bathroom slightly annoying as water just went wverywhere but did not affect our stay

We experienced a leak from the bath/shower during our stay. Although it was a Sunday the problem was dealt with promptly by the management company and resolved quickly by their contractor. The cottage was exactly as advertised and the facilities good. The nearby Star Inn pub served excellent food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Good size well equipped cottage for me and my husband plus dog. Enclosed garden perfect for the dog and plenty of places for dog walks close by. Good pub a short walk away and southwold, Dunwich, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness a short drive away all worth a visit
