Binham is a beautiful, peaceful village retaining all the charm and character of a bygone age. The village has the remains of an 11th century Benedictine Priory, where classical concerts are held throughout the summer and the whole area is steeped in history. The village shop supplies everyday needs, and The Chequers Inn is a good local, where you can dine in or take away. Abbey Farm Dairy in the village has a small shop showcasing local cheeses and produce and you can purchase raw milk here too. The beautiful beaches of the Norfolk coastline are 5 miles away; explore Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham and beyond. There are plenty of charming coastal villages too and the Coastal Hopper bus service can take you to them all, running from Cromer in the east to Hunstanton in the west. The Georgian towns of Holt and Burnham Market make a lovely day out in either direction, with plenty of artisan food shops, café culture, independent stores and antique galleries. This part of Norfolk is also a bird watchers’ and walkers’ delight: come in the summer but return in the winter where the landscape is a little wilder and it will capture your heart all over again.
