Property code: OC-NB1944

Seahouses is a colourful, historic fishing village with a vibrant array of shops, restaurants and pubs; this property would be a perfect base for couples or a family as it is at the heart of the village where you can find all local amenities within a 150-metre radius. With sea views from the lounge, it is hard not to be lured to the shore, the closest bit of beach being just under a mile away, and the picturesque harbour even closer – just 500 metres from the front door. Seahouses has its own golf club, just 0.5 miles away, with breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding countryside, and for pampering sessions look no further than the Beau Monde Salon and Spa (6.5 miles) just outside Adderston to the west of Seahouses. Made famous in recent times by TV show The Last Kingdom, Bamburgh Castle (3 miles) is steeped in history dating back as far as the 5th century – this is a great destination for a family day out. Out to sea, you can visit the Farne Islands (3 miles) and Holy Island (20 miles), again steeped in history from as early as the 6th century, and experience first-hand the bountiful wildlife population here, in the sea and sky as well as on land.

This apartment shares its entrance hall with another holiday let and this is where you can leave your coats and shoes after exploring the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Head upstairs and you’ll find the light-filled property packed with coastal charm. The comfortable and tranquil sitting area is the perfect place to relax in front of the TV and offers lovely sea views. The open-plan living space flows through to the kitchen/dining area, making it ideal for socialising with family and friends. The whole apartment is bright and airy with plenty of natural light and neutral decor providing a warm ambience, and the kitchen/diner is no exception; it is spacious and homely. Being all on one floor, the accommodation is easy to navigate and you’ll find two warm and welcoming bedrooms – a king-size and a twin - decked out with charming wooden furniture. The twin has a bright and cheerful en-suite shower room and there is also a refreshing family bathroom, with quirky P-shaped bath.

While the apartment has no outdoor space of its own, you’re right in the heart of the village with the harbour on your doorstep, so there’s plenty to explore when you venture out of the building.

The flat was very good and in a central location for services and all Northumberland had to offer. The parking permit was very welcome, as we met a couple who were staying at the Ship Inn who had to source there own overnight parking. This did not go down well with them.

Not the cleanest property Ive ever stayed in, particularly bathroom. Heating didnt work, including towel rail so nowhere to dry towels at all. Very little equipment in kitchen, no dishwasher salt, no cleaning products to wipe down hob, countertops etc. Bath plug mechanism broken, had to lever plug out with a teaspoon every time, bath and shower oldRead more and dated and in poor condition. Whole apartment in need of a hood clean and a freshen up, new paintwork etc obviously not been updated for some years. Good location though Hide

A clean comfortable apartment, although in the centre of Seahouses it was quiet. It is perfectly situated for local ships, pubs and restaurants.

We had a wonderful week here with our 2 young children and our dog. The location is brilliant, handy to have cafes, pubs and the co-op within a minutes walk. Apartment was clean with all the basics. The only thing we missed was a washing machine but we used a local laundy service during our stay which was a 5 minute drive away. The car park iRead mores very close by and it was handy to have the parking permit as we could use it in other carparks in Northumberland too. There were a few bits and bobs around the apartment that require fixing (broken headboard on one of the beds, loose skirting board trim) but I have detailed these seperately and we reported it to the office downstairs. Overall a good apartment. I would stay again. Hide
