Burnham Market is a well-known destination on the Norfolk map with an array of boutique shops, delis and fine eateries. The bus stop is only 80 yards away from the Annexe at No.10 with a regular coastal bus service. Leave your car and jump on the bus, perhaps walk part or all (over a few days) of the coastal path, or visit the many popular seaside towns along the coast then catch the bus home. There are two wonderful beaches within easy reach, Holkham in one direction and Brancaster in the other. At Holkham the tide goes out a long way and leaves behind glorious stretches of sand, backed by dunes and pine woods too. At Brancaster there is a wonderful links golf course but do watch out for the incoming tide and a further golf course at Hunstanton. Sailing courses are available at Brancaster and the beaches at Brancaster and Heacham are great for sand surfing and kite flying. Year round the area is well known for its bird and wildlife and during the winter, The Wash and its surrounding coastline is a haven for migrating birds. There are nature reserves at Titchwell, Holme and Cley-next-the-Sea and you can book a trip out to see the local seal colony at either Morston or Blakeney. There are plenty of farm shops, great restaurants and gastro pubs - many award winning - so the area is a foodie heaven and showcases the best the county has to offer from mussels to locally made cheeses.
