Wynn’s Cottage is a charming old cottage on a quiet lane in the picturesque village of Tideswell. Decorated and furnished to an excellent standard, it has a cosy lounge with wood burning stove, super dining kitchen, two double bedrooms (one en suite), a family bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom: a wonderful holiday retreat in the midst of the Peak District National Park.

Tucked away on the edge of the village, Wynn’s Cottage is in a great location. Sit on the patio with your morning toast as the village comes to life before a tranquil walk along Water-cum-Jolly Dale. Then have a brilliant evening meal in a local village pub. If there is an evening chill in the air, just cuddle up in front of the stove when you walk back from the pub.

Tideswell is in the very heart of the Peak District with its fantastic landscapes but there are also lots of other things to see and do. Climb to the top of Mam Tor as the paragliders float by. Visit Victorian Buxton with its magnificent Crescent and Opera House. Castleton with its spooky Blue John caverns and Peveril Castle is unique. Chatsworth House and gardens and nearby Haddon Hall are simply amazing.

A beautiful cottage that was very comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the living area and log fire. The cottage was warm and had plenty of room for the two of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. A very quiet and relaxing break enjoying walks in the countryside.

We were 2 couples with a dog on our stay, with 2 cars, and parking was never an issue, one of us always was by the cottage patio, the other a little further up the lane. As the cottage is up above the rest of the village there are great views over the roofs to the church, which you can hear the bells of on the odd occasion. The village itself Read morehas everything you need in it really, we used all 3 pubs, the food in one wasnt as good, we thought, an Italian, which was great, a local chippy, that is alway packed, and a fantastic breakfast in the cafe, everywhere is dog friendly, even the locals are friendly. Plenty of local walks and loads of places to visit, which are all reasonably close, Buxton and Bakewell are full of cafes on the street, we were lucky with weather to use them. Would definitely visit again at some point Hide

This is such a cosy, well equipped property, in a great village with a good choice of nice pubs for eating. Lovely walk at Tideswell Dale, beautiful walk at nearby Millers Dale. Plenty of good places to visit nearby - we went to Bakewell (great pudding!), Buxton and Eyam. We had a super relaxing stay in a really beautiful location.

When I first read about Wynns Cottage I had concerns about parking given some of the comments but this wasnt a problem. There is space nearby and just down the lane. Most who left comments in the guest book were walkers, so a short walk to the car if necessary is no challenge. The cottage itself is cosy and compact, what youd expect from a cottage.Read more Yes, I bumped my head a few times on the low rear passage doorway but thats my fault not the cottage. The beds and sofas were comfortable. We had no complaints and the cottage is located away from the centre in a very quiet area but still within easy reach of all facilities. Hide

Car parking was a nightmare. Original Cottages were misleading in stating that if the space by the cottage was taken then there would be adequate parking opportunities along the road. Not true.

Tideswell is a beautiful villagRead moree with lovely pubs, however lacked coffee and cake type establishments ,the Butcher didnt open until Wednesday and closed by 1pm and the Bakery also closed at a similar time, we were disappointed and felt whilst there must be economic reasons for these reduced opening times they were perhaps missing out on business ,certainly by us.
