This beautifully presented detached period barn is situated in the picturesque village of West Down. An attractive village there is a local pub and community shop are less than 2 minutes walk from the front door. The three mile stretch of golden sand, with Putsborough Beach at one end and Woolacombe Beach at the other (named the UK's best beach by TripAdvisor travellers) is ideal for surfers and beach lovers with its rolling, unbroken surf. Both beaches are around a 15-20 minute drive away from the village. The nearby harbour town of Ilfracombe with its many individual shops, cafes and restaurants is well worth a visit too. Exmoor National Park is another enjoyable option for you to consider for your adventure and days out.

This spacious family property has been tastefully furnished throughout and provides a modern yet rural base for exploring all that North Devon has to offer. The large well-equipped kitchen is the hub of the home with a central island and open plan to the dining room with log burner and comfy sofa. A cosier living room with impressive stone inglenook fireplace housing wood burner, is the perfect place for enjoying a board game or watching TV with the family. Downstairs is also a handy utility room and back door which is perfect for dumping those sandy bags after a day at the beach. Upstairs are the four bedrooms, the master room benefitting from an en-suite shower room and the other three serviced by the main family bathroom with bath and walk in shower cubicle. Outside is a pretty, matured garden with trees and shrubs and a patio area with garden furniture, BBQ and fire pit, the perfect place to sit and enjoy an alfresco meal while the kids play.

Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Power & Heat: Fuel inclusive. Starter pack for wood burner included, wood available from local shop. 

Bedding & Linen: Bed linen and towels are provided. (Please bring your own beach towels).

This is a beautiful cottage with well laid out rooms to sleep 8 people and the master bedroom with en-suite is very spacious. The bathroom is fitted with a bath and separate shower. The kitchen/dining area also has plenty of room and plenty of cutlery and glasses etc. There is the Crown Inn 5 min walk away in the village which is very welcoming Read moreand serves vry good food, although not every night, you need to check. A lovely home from home. Well equipped, beautifully presented and plenty of room for us and our grown up children to spend some time together, but also not get under each others feet. Great outdoor space and the hot tub was fabulous. A beautiful modern large cottage with plenty of room for a family of 6, together with a toddler and a dog. Everything we needed was provided and the hot tub was lovely and warm.

What a great place to stay! There were 4 adults and 3 children staying for an amazing week over Easter. The location was perfect for us to explore north Devon and the village of West Down is great with outdoor spaces for children to play, a shop and a pub serving delicious food. Barton Farm is a great place to stay - it is very clean, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. It has a lovely, enclosed garden overlooked by the church tower! Lovely clean, comfy, spacious cottage. Plenty of kitchen equipment and a gorgeous garden. Super comfy beds ( but be prepared for the church bells every hour, ok if windows closed) Fabulous shower in en suite, plenty of hot water.
