Wells-next-the-Sea is a popular town on the Norfolk Coast. Enjoy a spot of crabbing by the picturesque harbour and with fresh shellfish available you can enjoy the catch of the day or Fish and Chips on the Quay. Take a stroll to the beach along the harbour footpath or hop aboard the narrow-gauge steam railway where you’re rewarded with views of colourful beach huts decorating the vast sands elevated against a woodland backdrop. From the Buttlands to the Quay you'll find plenty of local pubs and restaurants to savour as well as delicatessens, butchers, fishmonger and boutique shops, which can be found nestled amongst the pretty lanes. With so many wonderful places to visit nearby why not take a short drive to the current home of the Earl of Leicester, Holkham Hall, which hosts numerous events throughout the year. Holkham beach can be reached along the shoreline from Wells-next-the-Sea and is the chosen beach of the ‘Household Cavalry’ who can be seen galloping along whilst taking a well-earned break in the summer. The unspoiled coastal scenery surrounding Wells-next-the-Sea are a haven for walkers, cyclists, bird/wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, sailors and anglers.
