Little House is an amazing barn conversion set amongst a cluster of cottages in a peaceful little valley nestling in the rolling hills south of Matlock. As soon as you get there you will realize that this is a very special place. The open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen surround a central double-sided log burning stove. The vaulted bedroom with a quiet reading area and balcony looking out over the fields is incredible. The terrace, balcony and patio are ideal places to have a glass or two while admiring the stunning views.
This is the perfect base from which to explore the numerous local attractions. The High Peak Trail is great for walkers and cyclists. Carsington Water with its water sports, cycle trails and birdwatching is just over the hill. The lovely historic town of Wirksworth with heritage railway, heritage trail, quirky Northern Lights little cinema and many a pub and restaurant is just ten minutes drive away. Belper's award-winning market town in the Derwent Valley World Heritage Corridor is another must-see.
There are also lots of other Peak District attractions in the surrounding hills. Matlock Bath with its cable cars and riverside prom is not to be missed. Venture beyond famous Bakewell and you are in the real Peaks with sparkling rivers, picturesque villages, incredible views from the gritstone edges and country pubs galore.
