Mary End is a cosy and beautifully renovated Dale’s cottage, which still retains some of its traditional character with beams, exposed stone walls and stone flagged floors. It is tucked away in a quiet corner in the lovely village of Burtersett.
This well-equipped cottage is light and airy with a beautiful, beamed living area having a wood burning stove to cosy up in front of on those chilly winter evenings after a day out sightseeing. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need.
A particular feature of this property is the spectacular views of the beautiful countryside, fells, and dales from nearly all the windows and from the seating area in the enclosed and secure garden at the rear.
This lovely cottage would make an ideal retreat for families and groups of friends wanting to meet up to enjoy the Yorkshire Dales.
There are numerous walks from the house itself making this an ideal base for the rambler and serious walker. There is a lovely walk through the fields, next to the cottage to Hawes (just under a mile and a half away) where you can visit one of its many attractions, these include the Wensleydale Creamery, the restored Gayle Mill, the Ropemakers and the Dales Countryside Museum and Information Centre in the old railway station. There are many other places of interest in the region and Hawes has a variety of bus services to some of the other towns. The Settle/Carlisle railway is within easy access and in addition to its scenic route provides connections to national rail networks.
