Sheringham is a thriving seaside resort on the popular North Norfolk coast that has something to offer all year round. Tennis, golf, sea fishing, the beach, its own Little Theatre and the National Trust's Sheringham Park are just some of the local attractions. Discover the coastal footpath, which is part of the National Coast Path and takes you to Cromer in the east and Salthouse and beyond in the west. Visit the sandy beaches of Cromer, with its famous pier and shows, or travel a little south to the beaches at West Runton, East Runton, Overstrand or Mundesley, for miles of sand and not many people! The famous Poppy Line Steam Railway runs from the town centre along the coast to the elegant Georgian town of Holt, with its numerous boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, for a great day out and there is a main line train that can take you to Norwich for a day of cultural sightseeing, shopping and a super restaurant selection. Ornithologists can enjoy a trip to the marshes and Norfolk Wildlife Trust centre at Cley-next-the-Sea and if you want to visit the largest common and grey seal colony in this part of the world, take a trip from either Blakeney or Morston quays. There are some delightful historic houses in the area at Felbrigg and Blickling, run by the National Trust and with so much to do in the area one visit is probably not going to be enough.

The house was absolutely lovely, decorated and furnished to a really high standard, and great location too - 10min walk from the beach and high street. But for us, the main joy was how well set up it is for a young family (our kids are 1 and 3) The travel cot has a proper mattress, there's bath toys, toddler toilet seats, a bed guard, and a cupboarRead mored full of baby/toddler toys as well as board games for older kids. And all without detracting from what a lovely peaceful house it is for adults. If we visit the area again we'll definitely be staying here! Hide

Curlew Cottage is a wonderful home from home. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and like a home from home. The location is good, you are near the sea, and the town centre Sheringham is a lovely place. This is well worth booking.

A beautiful property, we have been having self catering holidays for 30 years and this really was the best. It was a last minute booking and there are only two of us but it is very well equipped for a family of 6. Everything from cutlery to bedding was very good quality.

Curlew Cottage is a fabulous holiday location. The cottage is light and airy and tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay in Sheringham The courtyard garden is so pretty, the planters were in full bloom The location meant that we were only a short walk to the beach, town and good pubs who did excellent food Having aRead moren estate type car we found it easier to park on the road directly in front of the cottage - this was not an issue as the drop kerb stopped others parking in front of the house. We enjoyed lovely walks along the beach and up to and along the Beeston Bump Hide
