If you have not discovered this part of Norfolk yet, you are in for a treat. The countryside gently undulates, and pretty villages and market towns dot the landscape. Wymondham Abbey, set on the River Tiffey and Wymondham itself are only a few miles away. To the south lies the magnificent Thetford Forest, the largest low-lying pineland forest in Britain. With 47,000 acres to explore and numerous trails it is a great place to discover on foot, with a four-legged friend or on one of the many bike trails. For motor sport enthusiasts, Snetterton Race Track is a short drive away. Norwich is a lovely day out for culture vultures or pick up a train at Attleborough station and travel into the Fens to visit Ely and Cambridge. The Norfolk Broads are within easy reach and with the coast less than an hour away, Winterton-on-Sea can offer you a beautiful sandy beach, backed by dunes and a little further up the coast discover the seal colony at Horsey Gap. For foodies and those just wanting to enjoy a relaxing drink, there are plenty of local farm food shops, pubs, and restaurants to choose from; two of note being The Crown at Great Ellingham for great food and wine, and the White Hart in Rocklands for that genuine country local feel. Both are dog friendly, so your four-legged friend won’t miss out either!
