Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a fantastic traditional stone cottage on a quiet lane in the picturesque village of Tideswell with lovely décor and soft furnishings, stripped pine doors and floors, sumptuous furniture, super kitchen, sunny dining conservatory and a glowing log burning stove to top the lot!

The cottage is only matched by Tideswell itself, which is one of Derbyshire's best villages. Wander through the jumbles of cottages past proper village shops until you find the beautiful 'Cathedral of the Peak'. Take a tranquil walk down to scenic Water-cum-Jolly Dale. Get back in time for takeaway fish and chips or a meal in one of the village pubs.

This is the very heart of the Peak District with its fantastic landscapes but there are also lots of other things to see and do. Victorian Buxton with its magnificent Crescent and Opera House is great. Castleton with its spooky Blue John caverns and Peveril Castle is unique. Chatsworth House and gardens and nearby Haddon Hall are just simply amazing.

Bedroom 1: has a double bed with traditional brass bedstead and antique bedroom suite.

Bedroom 2: with full size bunk beds.

Family Bathroom: with shower over the bath, WC and basin.

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Perfect for our family of four. As there isn't a detailed list of everything it has I wasn't sure what to bring so brought a lot. For example they provide: a hairdryer; there is also washing liquid for the washing machine if you need it; washing up liquid and a sponge; cling film (but this mayRead more have been left behind by a previous guest), and a french press coffee maker. There is a guest folder which details everything and it is very well organised. There are also an array of helpful books about the Peak District, which as first time visitors we found incredibly helpful. Parking can be a bit tricky, but most of the time we were able to find a spot in front of the cottage. Just follow the advice you are sent. We would definitely book this again. We had a lovely stay. Fantastic cottage in one of our favourite villages . Amazing walks from the doorstep , great bus service . Everything you could need in the village. The cottage is wonderful , so cosy and well presented . Beds and sofa comfortable , kitchen well equipped and the lovely little garden is fab. The bathroom is looking a little tired , but fine . OnlyRead more issue we had was that the council removed the bins from the yard while we was staying, emptying the waste all over , not nice to clean up , I updated holiday cottages and left a note, so hopefully sorted for future guests . Locals shared that the council are doing this to all holiday properties in the village , classing them as businesses . Other than that, everything was perfect , already looking to rebook . Hide

Cosy and comfortable cottage located in a village with excellent amenities and well situated as a base to explore this beautiful part of the country. Parking can be tricky by the cottage at the weekend and I would imagine in high season - off road parking ad hoc nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at Forget-Me-Not Cottage, which is ideally located in the heart of Tideswell village and is perfectly sized for a small family holiday. The cottage is compact, however very well provisioned with equipment and the owners wonderful attention to detail provides finishing touches which create a lovely cosy atmosphere. The log Read moreburner and heating system are both incredibly straightforward to operate, which ensure a lovely warm and cosy winter retreat. The conservatory is a fantastic place to enjoy cosy meals in, especially with the Christmas decorations. The side entry was particularly useful for muddy boots and a dirty dog. The ground floor has obviously recently been renovated and it really shows, with the lovely kitchen ideal to cook family meals. Upstairs is more traditional, but not unpleasant and provided everything we needed for a winter family escape. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so much so that we have already booked to return (twice!) since coming home. Hide

Super for the summer. Lovely cottage with all you could want but not a winter retreat unless you bring some logs with you and are prepared to get up in the middle of the night to boost heat. Wonderful village with plenty of pubs and local services.

The Cottage is cosy, we felt at home from the beginning. Due to the unusually cold and rainy weather we spent a lot of time in the conservstory instead of the lovely garden. The Equipment is good, we only missed a big pot for cooking pasta. We really had a great week in a great location.
