Cara is a comfortable single storey cottage, created out of a mellow stone barn on a lovely little farm. In a peaceful location, surrounded by rolling countryside, with stunning views over the valley, but with Holymoorside's village store (1.5 miles) and two great pubs (0.5 mile) just a walk across the fields, this is the perfect location to relax and unwind. Parking, patio and access to the property is at the rear, overlooking the wonderful valley views and away from the farmyard and other properties.

Chesterfield is just a short drive away, for all the facilities that the town has to offer from supermarkets and major stores to cinemas, restaurants and nightclubs. Travel in the opposite direction and you are just as soon in the Peak District with its wonderful villages, popular attractions and magnificent scenery.

Holymoorside is an attractive village on the edge of the Peak District National Park with local walks through the bluebell woods by the river Hipper, or up onto Beeley Moor for wonderful views over Chatsworth. Head beyond Chesterfield to discover Bolsover's 'storm the battlements' castle, Bess of Hardwick's Hall and even Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. Venture the other way into the Peak and revel in the world famous scenery, marvel at Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, relive bygone days at the National Tramway Museum or explore the Derwent Valley’s world heritage site.

We had a very lovely week in Cara cottage. The cottage was well equipped, everything we needed was there. John, the host, welcomed us and gave us tips about the environment. For example what is the best time to visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. We liked the welcome package, very useful.
