Waters Edge is a fantastic find! It is a very stylish cottage near a sparkling brook in the sleepy hamlet of Atlow. Gaze at the views down the valley from the cottage's lounge as the sun comes up. Have breakfast on the patio and share your toast with the wild birds. Try to spot the heron as it glides over the water or play Pooh Sticks from the little bridge. Have your evening drink on the patio and just listen to the silence.

This tranquil little valley is a perfect base for numerous walks through beautiful countryside. Discover Carsington Water with its visitor centre and water sports. If you hire a bike it's then just a short pedal to the hidden gem of a historic market town that is Wirksworth.

A visit to nearby Ashbourne with its Georgian terraces, wealth of food, antique and fashion shops is another must. Bakewell, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are not much further away. Wonderfully quiet location. Cottege is very well equiped and clean. Great walks from the doorstep. Owner has thought of everything to help the stay highly enjoyable. Easy access to supermarkets in Ashbourne. Excellent pubs with good food (advise check opening times before walking there!) Will stay there again. Thanks.

We found this cottage fairly last minute for a short break plus visit friends/relatives. It was really well equipped with the essential King size bed and we would not hesitate to book again. Kath the owner lived on site which is peace of find should you have any problems.

Waters Edge @ The Alleys is a lovely, idyllic place to stay if you want a quiet relaxing time to recharge your batteries. Kath the owner was very welcoming and the wine and mince pies were a lovely touch. We fully intend to return later in the year and would fully recommend the property to all.

Lovely quiet and pretty location but close to shops and to the Peak District and other attractions. Very well-equipped and supplied with all sorts of handy things from fly spray to sandwich bags. Very comfortably furnished and a very warm welcome from owner. We would certainly return.
