Waters Edge is a fantastic find! It is a very stylish cottage near a sparkling brook in the sleepy hamlet of Atlow. Gaze at the views down the valley from the cottage's lounge as the sun comes up. Have breakfast on the patio and share your toast with the wild birds. Try to spot the heron as it glides over the water or play Pooh Sticks from the little bridge. Have your evening drink on the patio and just listen to the silence.

This tranquil little valley is a perfect base for numerous walks through beautiful countryside. Discover Carsington Water with its visitor centre and water sports. If you hire a bike it's then just a short pedal to the hidden gem of a historic market town that is Wirksworth.

A visit to nearby Ashbourne with its Georgian terraces, wealth of food, antique and fashion shops is another must. Bakewell, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are not much further away. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and a large seating area on the first floor. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor. We had everything we needed for our stay. Parking is good and the wi-fi was excellent.

A lovely cottage set beside the owner's property in their beautiful garden in the very small village. It is very comfortable with some nice walks suggested by the owners.

Everything was fantastic and the owners were on hand if we needed anything. It was Storm Claudia on the day we arrived so the weather was horrible with lots of delays so without even being asked they put a light on to help us find the property more easily and put the heating up so it was cosy when we arrived. Brilliantly equipped and lovely kitchenRead more so self-catering was a dream...we even made bread and a birthday cake! Lots of fabulous walks available right from the door. Highly recommend and we definitely plan to return to this lovely haven. Hide
