Set in the peaceful hamlet of Crowdecote this charming cottage sits among rolling hills and limestone valleys in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The surrounding landscape is known for its dramatic scenery and wonderful walking routes, with footpaths leading straight into the countryside from the village. Just a short drive away, you’ll find the iconic Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill (3 miles), often known as the Dragon’s Back for their striking ridgeline views. Crowdecote's 16th century pub is just 0.1 mile away and the traditional village of Longnor (1 mile) offers another country pub, excellent fish and chip shop, and small shops. The spa town of Buxton (7 miles) provides a wider choice of eateries and independent stores, along with the Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Gardens. Walkers will enjoy exploring Manifold Valley (5 miles) and Dove Valley (on the doorstep )For a classic Peak District day out, head to Bakewell 8.5 miles) to sample its famous pudding or visit Chatsworth House (13 miles).

Follow the stone path, and down some steps, to enter the side of the cottage through the utility room; where you’ll find a practical space with washing facilities and space for coats and boots after a day exploring the surrounding hills. From here, move into the country-style kitchen – a welcoming room with painted cabinets and traditional charm. There is also a dining table and chairs for meals. Just beyond, up some steps, the lounge sits at the front of the cottage and is a wonderfully relaxing space. Comfortable seating surrounds the wood burner, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere on cooler evenings. Large windows frame lovely views across the countryside. To the side of the cottage, up some steps, is a beautiful sunroom. With glass walls and a table positioned to take full advantage of the scenery, this bright and airy space is perfect for leisurely breakfasts or evening meals in warmer weather, while watching the light change across the valley. Upstairs, the cottage offers two comfortable double bedrooms, each decorated in a charming country style with soft colours and traditional furnishings. The quaint comfortable cottage was everything we had expected. Decorated in a personal arty way totally unlike other cottages decorated with bargains from Dunelm. The owner invited us to pick produce from the garden. Lovely rhubarb!
