We spent Christmas at the cottage. It is well equipped. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. The views from the lounge are stunning. We were aware of the hill as our eldest son lives 2 roads down. There is a bus service (X17) which will drop you off halfway up the hill or at the top by the Pub.

We (2 women aged 20 and 77) weren't entirely happy with our stay. A few things to note: - the beds are very hard, rather unbearable - one of the towels in the main bathroom was dirty. Just used the other ones instead. - the bath hadn't been cleaned by the looks of it. Just rinsed it out myself so wasn't a big deal but should have been done. - nRead moreot sure how well the rest of the place has been cleaned, its very dusty. I have dust allergies hense why I've picked up on it and my nannas chest is suffering - the amount of cobwebs and spiders is unbelievable. I know it's the countryside and there'll be spiders but they should have been sorted/cleaned before we arrived. I understand the high ceilings but there are ladders/extendable dusters. - should be made clearer how steep the bank is, where the cottage is located. I am a confident driver but I had a heavy mobility scooter and our luggage in the car and it's struggling. I understand this area has hills, however I think the situation of parking/steepness etc should be clearer. We really appreciated Ann's hospitality though. She was really nice. She had prepared for us cake, wine, jam, milk and eggs and (I have a feather allergy) she kindly gave us alternative, non feather pillows. Reply from Holiday Cottages: Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed with the owner and have also amended the descriptions regarding access. Hide

A lovely comfortable stay for two couples. Ann was lovely and welcomed us with bread eggs homemade jam and a bottle of wine. How kind. The house was an easy walk into town and a steep walk back! The wood burner was very effective. Beautiful view across the valley. Lots of places visit. Great central location.
