Llamedos is a lovely 17 century cottage, restored to a high standard and located in picturesque Castleton in the midst of the Peak District. The cottage's spacious accommodation combines beamed ceilings and other traditional features with more modern facilities. Add its location, in a quiet corner of the village just off the green, to make this a very rare find.

Castleton is a beautiful village, gathered around the church and green and set in a magnificent cauldron of hills. It is also a very interesting village with 'country' shops to browse around, the famous Blue John caverns to explore, Peveril Castle to storm and many a pub and restaurant to visit after a hard day’s walking.

How about climbing to the top of Mam Tor to marvel at the views, exploring rugged Edale, or venturing out along the Pennine Way. On more restful days, visit Tideswell with its well dressings, the 'Dambusters' Derwent Valley dams or Victorian Buxton. Children will treasure memories of the 'dares' they gave each other in Chatsworth's adventure playground, the exciting underground boating experience in Speedwell Cavern and the wonderful owls and otters in the nearby Chestnut wildlife sanctuary.

The location of the cottage is excellent. Its very quiet and peaceful. Its traditionally furnished, a tad old fashioned as there are many china ornaments and brasses but comfortable. The parking space, enough for 2 cars is really helpful. Although there is a seating area out front its next to the cars, however we did have tea outside one very warm Read moreevening. Hide

The property was a a great location and is well maintained. As there are no house numbers written on the doors in Castleton, we had to make use of the instructions sent in the welcome email, to locate the property. They were sufficient to locate it. Overall a value for money.

A well-equipped and wonderfully quiet cottage with generous space, filled with trinkets which are obviously very personal to the owners. This makes for a welcoming atmosphere and it is certainly a breath of fresh air in comparison to sterile holiday lets! Glorious walks from the door make for a great place to unwind.

Beautiful and spacious cottage with parking, in the centre of Castleton. The parking space was ample for one car of any size, but we struggled with access angles when our two medium sized cars were together. However, it was very gratefully received. The cottage living room is something of a 70s shrine, but was a cosy and comfortable space to returRead moren to, on every occasion. The heating was excellent and we liked the open plan feel of downstairs and the two bathrooms, upstairs. We all found the stairs quite steep, however. The kitchen is lovely and well equipped, but lacking a dishwasher. However, a good sink and racks and a lovely view, helped the dishwasing situation. The welcome pack was tremendous and the whole place was very homely. We felt genuinely welcomed and our neighbour from the geen painted house, next door, added to these feelings. For value for money and private parking space, I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. However, in warmer weather, lack of private outdoor space, might be more keenly felt. Hide

This is a lovely cottage and in the best ever position in Castleton. We have stayed in many Castleton cottages and this is the best situated one. It is however quite dated although comfortable.

A lovely place to stay, location is fantastic particularly having parking. Everything we needed was there. Great walks from the door and caverns within walking distance too. For a central village property still had nice views and was quiet as no traffic going past as on private driveway.

Llamedos is clean, cosy and comfortable, well appointed and perfectly situated for exploring the area. We booked after friends recommended it and found that it suited the needs of two independant 60 something women very well.

Comfortable and spacious cottage in an excellent location in the heart of Castleton. Really nice to have allocated parking, which allowed us to leave the car and walk from the doorstep. Allowed for a very relaxing weekend.

Very well situated in Castleton with private parking which was a priority for us. Can do lots of walks from the property and plenty of places to eat nearby.
