The Hide is a beautifully presented self-contained property attached to the owners own home which is situated just on the outskirts of the pretty village of West Down. As the name suggests the property is surrounded in wildlife such as Red deer, woodpeckers, buzzards and herons etc. The stunning North Devon Coastline is just a short drive away with Woolacombe Beach being approx. 3 miles away and the world famous Saunton Sands Golf Course and beach only 6 miles. The property is ideal for couples wishing to ‘get away’ from it all, but is an ideal place from which to explore all that North Devon has to offer including Exmoor National Park and the surrounding towns including Ilfracombe which offers excellent eateries including a Michelin star restaurant, beautiful harbour views and Damien hursts famous ‘Verity’ statue.

The property has been updated and renovated to a very high standard with outstanding panoramic views across the rolling countryside. The fully equipped kitchen area including DeLonghi coffee machine overlooks the lawned garden and has wooden beams and oak flooring. The open plan lounge/dining area has been tastefully furnished and has a large comfy corner sofa, tiffany style lamps, dining table and chairs for 2 and wood burner for cosy evenings in. A conservatory room offers additional space with rattan furniture ideal for relaxing with a good book or just taking in the beautiful views. The double bedroom has built in wardrobes, TV, USB plugs, a dressing area with dressing table/desk area, for those that may need to work whilst away. A well-equipped shower room with WC, heated towel rail, cubicle shower and large wash basin. The owners really have thought of everything here and we are sure guests will love staying at The Hide and will want to return again and again.

Lounge/diner: 50” Smart TV with free sat, large corner sofa, woodburner with companion set and log bucket (first bucket supplied), electric heater and Oak dining set.

Conservatory: Rattan furniture for 2 with table, coat rack and box with patio cusions for outside seating.

Kitchen: Electric oven and grill, ceramic hob, microwave, DeLonghi Dolce Gusto coffee machine, washer/dryer and fridge with ice box.

Bedroom 1: Double bed, Egyptian cotton bed linen, reading lights, USB plugs, Smart TV, dressing area with full length mirror and desk space.

Shower Room: Walk in cubicle with Mira electric shower, large heated towel rail, mirror, WC and handbasin

Pets: Sorry, no dogs

Parking: Private parking for 1 car

Garden/patio: South West facing patio area with outdoor seating and lawned gardens with uncovered Koi carp pond.

Heating: Electric Heaters, Woodburner in lounge.

Short breaks: Available November-March. Changeover day is Friday

Notes: Linen and towels are provided (please bring beach towels). WiFi Broadband (wirelss BT Broadband Mini HUB). Hairdryer. Iron and Ironing board. No smoking at this property. CCTV is in operation but is purely outside and only covers all door access points. Property not suitable for children.

    Please be aware that there is a CCTV system covering the main driveway, lane, owner’s external doors, owner’s patio and all lawned gardens and pond areas.
    This is there solely for your and our security.
    PRIVACY
    The cameras have been carefully positioned so as not to cover the double doorway into The Hide, windows and private patio area of The Hide, in order that your privacy is not compromised in anyway. Also, please be rest assured that there are no cameras inside The Hide.
    Footage from the cameras is recorded so that it can be referred to after the event, should anything untoward occur.
    Neither the live streams nor the recorded footage can be accessed from the public internet – this again is to protect everyone’s privacy.

'The Hide' is a superb, and very peaceful property, set within the owners grounds. The easily accessible and beautifully kept gardens, with uninterupted views beyond, were exceptional. The cleanliness of both interior and all the property exterior must be mentioned. Kristina and Paul shoud be very proud of their acheivements. Due to the thoughtfuRead morel construction above the garages, the property also has far reaching views from inside. Even the birds were well fed. We really enjoyed the views from the cottage of the lovely garden and valley beyond. Also the bird life in the garden and on the feeders. The location was very peaceful, but very convenient for the excellent bus service.

Lovely quiet location. Easy access to main road with all amenities. Well equipped accommodation, sunsets were spectacular, deer in the valley barking. Weather perfect for time of year 10-17th Oct.2025. Would not hesitate to use this venue again.

Such a well equipped base for my wife and I to enjoy a weeks break exploring this part of N.Devon. Very quiet, relaxing, comfortable accommodation for two with excellent views enjoyed from the property and from the attractive and well cared for garden. The Hide had gorgeous views, a beautiful garden to sit in and although not far from a road because it is lower than the road it was incredibly peaceful. A regular bus service made it very easy to get to Barnstable & other places. Kristina made us feel very welcome .we hope to return in the future

Lovely cottage in a stunning location with great out door seating . It exceeded our expectations and more.Kristina met us on our arrival and explained everything. The wine.chocolate and other items left for us were an added bonus. There was a bus stop at the end of the lane with buses going to Ilfracombe and Barnstable more or less every 30 minRead moreutes which is great if you dont want to use your car. Great apartment so convenient yet tucked away in the countryside for peace and relaxation. Loved the location lots of walking and cycling and swimming and surfing all close by. We would definitely book again.

We booked the Hide based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed. The cottage was immaculately presented and well equipped and the garden and views beyond were the icing on the cake. This was a gem and our thanks go to Katrina and Paul for making it so.

Absolutely brilliant cottage . It was a pleasure to return there after a day out . The setting was perfect. We have been staying in cottages for over 20 years this one is top of our favourites

Couldnt fault the property. A perfect location for exploring this corner of Devon and it was lovely to have access to a garden.
