2 Truman Lodge makes the most of its beautiful surroundings and sea views by cleverly placing its living area on the first floor. The spacious lounge-diner is furnished to a very high standard providing a clean and inviting environment to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views over Thorpeness beach. Guests will find a TV and bluetooth speakers in the lounge, perfect for keeping everyone entertained. The windows make the apartment naturally bright, and when opened, fresh sea air will pour through. On the same floor, leading from the lounge diner, guests will find the newly fitted, fully equipped kitchen where should they decide to self-cater, all amenities are provided. A handy breakfast bar is in place, resulting in the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat or chat with the head chef of the family whilst they cook away. 

On the ground floor, the master bedroom has a real luxury feel with a king sized bed and a luxurious en-suite shower room. The spacious twin bed has access to the main bathroom and both bedrooms have fantastic sea views. 

The apartment is located in the heart of Thorpeness with both the mere and the beach being just a short walk away. Thorpeness is an iconic sea side town with an abundance of character. Just a mile north of Aldeburgh is this fascinating seaside village, built in the 1920s by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, an architect, barrister and playwright. The mock Tudor style of the building is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf club, a country club with tennis courts and the Meare - a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby. The beaches are mainly sandy and behind the village is a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land.

Upon arrival the apartment looked lovely. However there were a few issues with both bathrooms which meant we left 2 days early. Generally the place was fine but needs a little TLC to make it a lovely place to stay.

Lovely location. Excellent views. Nice decor. Well equipped kitchen. Downsides: downstairs rooms smelt musty, not helped by extractor fan not working in bathroom. The standard of cleaning let's an otherwise lovely property down

The property is beautiful & a lovely lay out with the lounge being upstairs giving you lovely views of the sea. Lovely furnishings & well equipped kitchen . The country club can be noisy on a weekend . The location is amazing would stay again .

There were some lovely features and interior fittings in the apartment, comfortable beds and sofas. Its just a shame the cleaning wasnt quite up to standard.

Lovely apartment in a quiet spot in Thorpeness, with views of the sea. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay and Ideal for local walks and close to many pretty villages and conservation areas.

Great location opposite the beach and walkable to the Dolphin pub and Thorpeness Kitchen. The house is really comfortable for 2 adults and 2 teenagers plus a Labrador! It was a bit cold over Easter but the heaters did the job keeping the property warm, and the sun streams through the windows to the sea views. 2 Truman Lodge is a very nice, comfortable apartment in a good location but if you are looking for a quiet retreat this property may not be suitable. It is attached to the Country Club which holds functions (even in the winter) which can include loud music until late as we experienced in January.
