Cherry Garth is situated in Sleights on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and is close to the wonderful seaside town of Whitby which boasts the famous Abbey. This well-equipped cottage is light and airy and has a beautiful patio and garden boasting open views. The beamed living room has a wood burning stove to cosy up in front of on those chilly winter evenings after a day out sightseeing and the kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal.
This lovely cottage would make an ideal retreat for families to enjoy the North York Moors and Whitby. You are spoilt for choice in this area of Yorkshire. Whatever your interests there is something for everyone, historic castles, even older abbeys, museums, farms, walking, cycling, superb local markets with the very best Yorkshire produce and of course restaurants and tea rooms too numerous to mention. Sleights is a very popular village and just a short walk away you will find the famed Botham's a family craft baker's for over 151 years, Radfords butcher's an award winning family run butcher's with locally sourced produce and a small but well stocked Spar shop.
Why we love this property: Great patio area with open views, woodburner to snuggle up in front of, only a short drive or train ride into historic Whitby and easy access to the North York Moors National Park for some great walks or cycle rides. Excellent links to Whitby by train or bus.
GROUND FLOOR:
Porch: Half glass door leads into the porch where you will find a hall cupboard, coat hooks and a lovely tiled floor. A great place to store your muddy boots after a day’s walking in the hills.
Lounge: This room has a mixed of tiled and laminate floor and feature ceiling beams with a cosy wood burner in a stunning brick exposed inglenook surround. Furnished with two 2 seater sofas, two tub chairs, a coffee table and a nest of tables, modern sideboard and a TV with Firestick and DVD player. There are also the remains of a cast iron bread oven set into the wall. Double glazed patio doors open onto the large flagged patio and give views across the valley. Should you be musical or would like to give it a try there is an electric organ which you are welcome to play. This room is beautifully cosy and is a super room in which to sit and relax after a day in Yorkshire
Kitchen: The beamed ceiling kitchen is well equipped and boasts and recently fitted suite of units with complementary worktops extending to make a breakfast bar with four stools. You will find a separate fridge and freezer, a dishwasher and a washer dryer. There is a gorgeous range cooker with 6 hobs and two ovens. Again a door leads to the extensive patio and a window gives you wonderful views over the valley. A welcome pack is included.
Dining Room: Double doors lead from the lounge to the spacious dining room, again with tiled floor and feature beams. There is a large wooden table with four chairs and a style church pew for two. A modern sideboard gives more storage should you need it and the large mirror above reflects the light and the activity in the living room. The staircase leads from this room to the first floor.
FIRST FLOOR
Bathroom: This light spacious room with tiled floor and half tiled walls, boasts a large P shaped bath with electric shower over and curved shower screen. A basin, and toilet complete the sanitary ware.
Master Bedroom: This front facing bedroom boasts a king sized bed with two bedside cabinets each with a lamp, a stylish chest of drawers holds a large screen TV and there is a triple wardrobe. It has laminate floor and more feature beams
En-suite WC: Featuring WC and wash hand basin set in a vanity unit with plenty of storage.
Bedroom Two: With rear facing aspect having a double bed, built in wardrobes with overhead storage and neat shelves housing bedside lamps.
Bedroom Three: This room has lots of original features including ornate cast iron fireplace and original beams. There are twin beds each with its own bedside cabinet and lamp, and a large triple wardrobe.
Bedroom Four: This smaller room with beamed ceiling and laminate floor houses a single bed with two small tables and a bedside lamp. There is a built in wardrobe and a large wooden bookcase.
Outside: To the rear of the property is an extensive patio, ideal for sitting out and taking in the countryside views, from there steps take you down through the garden to a lower lawned area with additional seating. The front boasts more lawn and a sloped drive with parking for one car.
Pets: Up to 2 dogs welcome.
Parking: Private off-road parking.
