Located in central Studland with private access to the beach, Cliff End is a 19th century holiday home perfect for a relaxed family break. The property has been owned by the same family for 45 years and is a labour of love, they are open to welcoming families with pets and children to make memories in such a special place. The property itself is spacious and functional, sleeping eleven people in five bedrooms. The position of the property is completely unrivalled, with magnificent views from both the house and garden over Studland Bay and over to Old Harry Rocks. 

The village of Studland is famous for it sandy shores and calm waters, along with a village shop and pub all within walking distance from the front door.

Bedrooms: 1) Master bedroom with double bed and sea views 2) Double bedroom, sea glimpses, storage. 3) Twin bedroom. 4) Twin bedroom. 5) Three 2'6" single beds. 

Bathrooms: 1) Ground floor shower room, wash hand basin, W.C. 2) First floor bathroom with bath, shower attachment, wash hand basin and W.C.

Kitchen: Basic open kitchen, with units, worktop, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster, free standing electric cooker with hob, grill and oven. Two large freestanding fridge / freezers along with two low level fridges. Breakfast table and chairs.

Dining Area: Extendable dining table with seating for 11, writing desk, TV and iPod docking speaker compatible with iPhone 4. 

Living Room: Sofa seating, Smart TV, books and games. 

Garden: Gated access, with large lawn, picnic benches, private access to Studland Beach just at the end of the garden. Views of the sea over to Bournemouth and Old Harry Rocks. 

Pets: Pets welcome!

Linen and Towels provided: Please bring your own beach towels and cot bed linen.

WiFi: Included.

Families: Travel cot and highchair available, please bring your own cot bedding.

Fuel: Calor gas heating.

Parking: Private parking on driveway for six cars.

The best possible location, but the house is a hovel. Child and dog friendly, access to the beach and 'quaint charm' have tipped over into grime and squalor. Carpets are frayed and filthy, taps wobbly, ancient furniture and furnishings, curtains hanging off the rails, lots of crockery chipped and cracked, random old glasses and kitchen utensils. MaRead moreny cupboard doors no longer close. Dirt everywhere - dead flies on windowsills and an old fly strip hanging in the kitchen. The garden fence needs repair, particularly as there were sheep in the adjoining field and the new law allows unlimited fines. Hide

A great location and a relaxed house for dogs to enjoy as much as their humans. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Good points: wonderful location it is great to wake up and be able to see the sea right outside the window, whatever the weather. Very spacious. Clean, crisp white bedlinen and towels. Plenty of lovely hot water. Bad points: - We are only allowed to arrive after 4pm meaning that for our December stay it was in the pitch dark, down a narrow road eRead morending in a muddy parking area which is quite a distance from the house. To reach the door you need to go downhill via a number of uneven stone steps which is difficult in the dark. On a night that is cloudy, rainy and without moonlight it is impossible to see the path. There is no external lighting. - Once inside it was very cold. It took us a while to realise there are storage heaters, but they were all turned off so of course took 48 hours before they added to the internal temperature. Once the storage heaters had got going it was comfortable they should be put on before winter arrivals. Our first evening was spent wearing coats indoors followed by dressing-gowns in bed. I telephoned Holiday Cottages next day but got no help. Three days into our stay it was nice and cosy, but by then we were nearly about to leave. - The whole place needs bit of tlc. We don t expect perfection and its great that the place is so dog and child friendly, but missing lightbulbs, an overload of strict-sounding instructions sellotaped all over the place, stopped clocks, wobbly taps, being confronted with long-dead flies on a fly-paper when cooking, and an information folder that is neither clear nor updated show a lack of attention to detail that can impact on the holiday renters enjoyment. - One of our party, sleeping in a single bed, had an uncomfortable spring digging into them from the mattress - Although it is understandable that the owners might want to keep personal belongings in a sealed cupboard the number of locked doors and private areas was exceptional and did not add to a friendly ambience. It made us feel that we were very much guests grudgingly allowed in so as to cover the owners bills. - The settees and armchairs were rather uncomfortable - It was a great shame that we were not allowed to use the wood-burning stove, which would have made such a difference. - Perhaps most importantly the property is completely unsuitable for disabled people but there is no warning about this on the website, although it is clearly described in the house folder. I write the above after having stayed in many holiday properties during December, but never having experienced one so disappointing. Hide

Gorgeous old Georgian Villa in matchless position. The garden, views, access to the beach down the little secret path, the pub a hundred yards away, the walks, the games, three generations of laughter, the peace, the history, the quirkiness, the space, the privacy. We loved it all.

Cliffend was our perfect holiday location in our favourite part of the country, Studland Bay. We loved staying at this wonderful Edwardian cottage and it exceeded our expectations. Dj vu When I was a curious child I walked into this persons garden by mistake. Saw a table of people having lunch and bolted back down the hill . A few decades later its still as enchanting as I remember. Lovely location beautiful beach house bigger than Iv ever seen. Puzzles 3 bits missing. Beds really comfortable. The gardens a Warm sun tRead morerap perfect place to take a nap. The Sea views are amazing. This must be just like living in paradise and I didnt want to go home. We had our not so famous five adventure at Cliffend and it could not have been more perfect. Amazing views, own beach access and a big old comfy house that has seen many years of holiday joy. It's not modern, its well used, it takes dogs, it allows you time to relax. Do not hesitate, you will never regret staying in this special place.

From parking the car it's about 70yds downhill to the front door where the Balustrade is a bit loose.At the porch ceiling light has some conduit & exposed wires that are not covered.And wiring under the gutter is quite unusual.The conduit seems to appear in many parts of the house.The living room has ample seating but springs seem to be missing in Read moresome seats (so choose carefully).There is storage and central heating.The latter has faulty thermostats and cannot turn them off.The secondary double glazing is tired and the curtains blow in the wind that are also very thin.The 1st floor bathroom is about 6' square and is tricky to use and we preferred the shower on the ground floor but poor decor and a rusty radiator is not a great impression and needs replacing probably as may the strip lights in the hall and kitchen.We did not use the wood burner in the hall as we felt that there should be fire doors in the property to leave it running.The housekeepers for this property left it very well with fresh towels and bedding.Over all the property has has been repainted in recent times and is useable but needs a little help.It's the most perfect location that you could ask for. Spent a wonderful week in Cliff End. It was an ideal, large and comfortable space for our two families to get together. The location was fabulous for lots of local walks along the beaches and cliffs whilst within easy driving distance to many Dorset attractions.

We had a great holiday, the footpath to the beach was such a bonus. The "secret" bench at the end of the garden was in a great location for a peaceful drink and the view is stunning.
