Harlow Cottage is set back off the main road in the very popular seaside village of Sandsend with a stunning beach on your doorstep. This 18th century cottage is full of old English charm and would make an ideal holiday location for a memorable relaxing break by the sea. Your four legged friend would enjoy the local walks through Mulgrave Woods to explore the ruined castle or if the tide is out why not walk along the beach into Whitby and enjoy fish and chips for lunch. The cottage is steeped in history originally built as a home for a servant of the Marquis of Normanby who owned the whole of Sandsend and it still remains virtually an Estate Village today.

You enter the property through a picket fence through the front door directly into a warm and welcoming lounge dining area with its large bay window letting in lots of light and a glimpse of the sea and an electric wood burner effect stove for those cosy nights in after the day's adventures in the local area. The kitchen is to the rear of the property and is well equipped to prepare a lovely home cooked meal with local sourced ingredients. The steep stairway leads off this to the first floor where you will find a twin bedroom and bathroom up an additional steep flight of stairs and you will find a large bedroom with a king size bed an impressive pitched ceiling and a glimpse of the sea view.

A lovely little cottage in a great position in Sandsend. The stairs to the bedrooms are very steep so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We were there with 2 children so no problem for us!

Lovely property but just be aware of the steep steps to the bedrooms. There is a handrail but you need to be careful when going up & down.

Lovely being so near the sea. A beautiful cottage, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The only bugbear being the lack of direct parking. We naively thought the complimentary parking cards were for the car park 100 m away and incurred a 50 fine!!! This, however, has not put us off staying again, perhaps in October when parking is free as we loRead moreved Sandsend and had a lovely short break and want to come again. Hide

The location of the cottage is good. We felt happy, comfortable, and satisfied during our week's stay at the cottage. 'Original Cottages' responded quickly and efficiently to a problem we had, and it was resolved.

Another fabulous visit to our favourite little, cosy cottage. Perfectly located to enjoy the beautiful Sandsend beach, which is located on the doorstep. Although small, its perfectly formed and had everything we needed for our family of four. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Lovely cosy & comfortable cottage, with lots of character, minutes away from the sea. The property is well presented. The tea, coffee and biscuits were very welcome. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Great location right next to the beach and not too many steps to get to the property, we were also able to get parked quite close by which can be very difficult in other seaside locations nearby. The cottage had everything we could have needed and the addition of lovely soft towels was welcome. The cottage was very homely and comfortable but narroRead morew stairs may be a problem for younger children or people with less mobility. Hide

Really loved this place and free parking all through the stay. Only thing I found difficult was the steepness of the stairs but that is down to my own health conditions. If you have a dog who likes a yard there isnt one but the sea and beach are seconds away so for us it wasnt a problem. All in it is an excellent place to stay and some beautiful waRead morelks. Hide
