Postgate Barn is a cosy and luxurious converted barn complete with beams and vaulted ceilings and boasting a beautiful garden with extensive views over Glaisdale Dale. It is situated in the heart of the dale and the North Yorks Moors National Park about a mile from the village of Glaisdale with its friendly village centre and boasting an award-winning butchers, village store and post office. The traditional local pub The Arncliffe Arms serves locally sourced homemade food. This well-equipped property is light and airy and the owners have spared nothing to make it the perfect relaxing holiday retreat with many little details to charm and delight the eye. The vaulted ceiling in the lounge area gives you a feeling of space and the exposed stone walls are a gentle reminder of the property’s origins. This lovely cottage would make an ideal retreat for couples or small families to enjoy the North York Moors and all the traditional villages surrounding it. GROUND FLOOR:
Open Plan Living Kitchen Area A glass door opens into the living area with a view straight through to the opposite door and out to the dale beyond. This room comprises a cosy lounge area with double height ceiling and two comfortable leather sofas large enough to stretch out after a day walking through the beautiful countryside on your doorstep. There are two side tables and lamps and a standard lamp and a large screen Smart TV with FreeSat mounted on the wall. This room is extremely stylish with the exposed stone wall, warm and cosy with the underfloor heating and is a super room in which to sit and relax after a day out on the Moors.
Dining Area: Here there is a beautiful wooden table and chairs for six, and these are situated near the woodburning stove which adds heat and a beautiful cosy glow to the room.
Kitchen Area: The beamed kitchen is very well equipped and boasts granite worktops, modern white units and everything you would need to cook a sumptuous meal. You will find a fridge with ice box, induction hob, and integrated electric oven with grill, a dish washer, microwave, DeLonghi coffee machine, (a washer, tumble dryer and additional fridge/freezer are available in the separate communal laundry room).
Bedroom: An elegantly furnished room with a Zip and Link Bed giving you a choice of twin or superking. This room boasts many original slit windows which have been made into beautiful lighted nooks which only go to enhance the feature beams. You will also find plenty of storage with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps. There is also a freestanding mirror.
En-suite: This is a Jack and Jill bathroom entered from the bedroom as an en-suite or from the hallway. Here you will find a fantastic walk in cubicle with rain-head shower and body jets; a basin, and toilet complete the sanitary ware. Also there is a lighted mirror and a heated towel rail.
FIRST FLOOR
Staircase: a beautiful wooden staircase leads you from the living area to the galleried mezzanine
Mezzanine: This space with galleried railings looking over to the lounge offers a great view of the stunning painting of Glaisdale Dale which adorns the double height gable wall. Here you will find a single and a double bed settee Ideal for lounging on and watching the wall mounted TV, or playing computer games using the provided Playstation and games. There are two side tables with lamps and a bookcase.
Bedroom: Triple aspect windows in this room allow views of the surrounding countryside and right across to the other side of the dale. There is a king-sized bed with two bedside cabinets and lamps. For storage there is a built-in wardrobe and a chest of drawers with mirror over. Relax in the upholstered chair and admire the views.
Down two steps you with find a panelled bath with glass screen and shower over waiting for you to soak after a days walking.
Toilet: Off the bedroom you will find the WC and wash hand basin with lighted mirror over.

Parking: Private off-road parking for up to two cars
Garden: A real feature of this property. A traditional country garden with a table and chairs, great for long summer evenings spent gazing over the dale and watching the wildlife.
Heating: The cottage is heated throughout with underfloor heating powered by the site’s biomass boiler. A wood burning stove is installed in the lounge with all fuels provided free of charge.
