We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fron Olau, the cottage has been refurbished very nicely with a modern look in the kitchen and bathrooms without spoiling the character of the old cottage at all. We loved the views from the front windows! The very large utility room with washing machine AND tumble dryer (which is quite rare!) and downstairs WC wereRead more really useful. Everything was spotlessly clean and all equipment was working, we had no problems at all. There are really good amenities in Aberdaron village, including a great fish and chips shop, a Spar shop, 2 pubs serving good food, a fabulous bakery which also serves good cooked breakfasts upstairs, a cafe, ice cream shop, gift shop, beach cafe (serves fresh pizza) and beach shop. We went to several other beaches apart from Aberdaron within 15 mins drive such as Porthor (Whistling Sands), Porth Iago and Penllech which were all fabulous. Porthor is the only one with a cafe and toilets (I recommend the cafe!) although Porth Iago does have a small shop at the camp site that sells drinks and snacks. The drive up the hill to Mynydd Mawr is worth it, as there are spectacular views across to Bardsey and if you are lucky you will see a great sunset. We would love to return here. Hide

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful location, in walking distance to the sea with stunning views. All the equipment you could possibly need in a well stocked kitchen, bathroom and en-suite. Aberdaron beach is spotlessly clean and the sea was crystal clear. I would recommend this period cottage to anyone who enjoys a peaceful relaxing break

Beautifully renovated and equipped old Welsh cottage in a beautiful setting. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our week there together with our 3 adult children and exploring the stunning area. The countryside and coast looked amazing in June with all the wildflowers out. Access to the coastal path is easy and plenty of great placeRead mores to visit including Plas yn Riw (National Trust), Abersoch, Porth Neigl, Whistling Sands, etc.) Some lovely cafes and food places too, like Hen Blas and Slpash Caban Pyscod in Aberdaron.
