Wood Dalling is a quiet Norfolk village within peaceful countryside. There are cycle paths and footpaths aplenty and the area is festooned with wildlife: hare and deer roam the fields, birds of prey take to the skies, game birds congregate around the hedgerows. St Andrew’s church is visible across the fields and within a short car ride there are plenty of places to stock up on provisions or get a good bite to eat. The pretty hamlet of Heydon is within a cycle ride with its lovely tea room, popular pub and beautiful village green. On Friday evenings during busier months there is a pizzeria cooking to order. Reepham and Aylsham, both historic market towns, are within easy reach, each offering local shops, pubs, libraries and places of interest. Aylsham also has two supermarkets and a petrol station. The Norfolk Broads are about a thirty minute drive and well worth a visit – explore on foot or hire a boat for the day to truly experience the area from afloat. The North Norfolk beaches and coastal villages where the sky meets the sea are also within short reach. For history lovers, delight equally in the treasures of the fine City of Norwich or the architecture and manicured gardens of National Trust properties at Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall.
