We stayed here as when we arrived our original booked house had been double booked. It turned out absolutely fine as sea shell was perfect. It really was. We loved everything about it. The blue door. Beautiful cottage in a perfect location for exploring Whitby. The cottage had everything we needed including a really well equipped kitchen and great sized lounge with comfy sofas for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. We found the double bed quite uncomfortable, but thats just down to personal preference.

The cottage is in a good position, easy to get to the harbour. The only issue was the parking. There is free parking on the streets but trying to find the correct location/zone was difficult. I rang the office and was sent, by email, a map of where the streets were for the correct parking. It maybe a good idea to leave a street map in the cottage.Read more This would have saved us about an hour to sort it out. Hide

The cottage stated a welcome pack but there wasn't one, car parking permit was only for 4 days not 7 and the TV was not a smart TV as stated. It was only Freesat so we had to buy DVD's to watch in the evening.

A return visit to Seashell Cottage. It's still lovely and very well equipped as well as being in a perfect location. Did a fossil trip from Natural Wonders on Grape Lane - highly recommended. A beautiful walk from Sandsend to Kettleness and back along the old railway line and coastal path. Botham's for all your bread and cakes etc. We will return.
